Well designed and thought out SIP phone
Hi, Thanks for linphone. it's really good.
- Pros -
Linphone audio is far superior to Acrobits Softphone audio for outgoing calls.
Quicker registration compared with Acrobits Softphone.
Excellent selection of video and audio codec.
Easy to configure.
Easy to use.
Responsive.
- Cons -
Buggy on ios 13.5 - ios Status bar disappears when app is open!( but ios 13 is as buggy as hell compared to ios 12.4...). Using iphone SE (the original)
On ios 13.5 - speaker volume is very quiet.
Cannot use PUSH registration with companies like Callcentric etali, so must use another for inbound calls.
Cannot call a number on a web page (e.g long press Call with) or from ios Contacts with Linphone. One must either copy and paste, or use the Contacts within Linphone. Acrobits and Whatapp can be called like this.
Non Linphone initiated Recent calls do not appear in Linphone Recents list
No Favourites list - would be good if the Conversations list could be toggeled with a Favourites list.
Sadly, I have to keep using your competitor Acrobits Softphone for inbound calls for the PUSH registration with Callcentric. Unless there is a way to use Linphone, because I only want to use Linphone?

Free SIP Softphone for NBN
Moving to NBN I decided to use my Optus Cable router to save money. However Optus locked down the SIP configuration in this router and it didn’t work with AussieBB VOIP. I was told for it to work I need a new router or a VOIP adapter, all of which cost money. I thought surely there is a software that does what the hardware does??! This was 5th app that I installed that does exactly what I needed! Thank you for open source! Thank you Linphone! I minus one star for connection quality but besides that this is amazing.
Clean and simple way to make voip cast
Easy to figure out. Works well, doesn’t bother me with ads or notifications. Cheers to the devs.

Background Issues
Of all the apps for third party sip clients this one was the only one that would work to receive and make calls to normal phone numbers but as soon as the standby screen came on or as soon as the app was no longer in focus receiving calls didn't work despite having background and boot at start up on.
The ringtone selection would be a nice touch for later versions. The windows phone version needs some work to bring it to the same level of maturity as iOS. Overall we'll done but I think I can really see why there are so many variants of sip clients out there
Works, but...
It works but when I set Transport to tls, it wont connect when other clients do. I'm not certain about the cause but at a guess, it's because it's not reading the certificate from my phone's keychain and is presenting no certificate to the SIP server. If this worked, I'd give it five stars.
