What used to be a decent website has been turned into an appalling app. Everything takes 5 times longer to do and a bunch of things you can’t. You can’t input your discount code against the round because the field only accepts capital letters and the code they sent is a mixture of both lower and upper characters. You couldn’t make it up. The suggested schedule is a joke and contacting people is a mess. Bring back the website!!!!!
Its ok :-)
Its my first time using the app and playing in a local league so this is all i know. The functionality is ok, it could be better but it works and generally does a good job. Every 10 days or so though you need to delete it and reinstall as it simply wont load up. Arranging matches works well and the suggested schedule is just that, a suggested schedule. You can rearrange matches easy enough and i like not having to give personal details such as mobile out. Overall a 3 star app which could easily be 4 or 5 as and when it grows.
BRING BACK THE WEBSITE
Why does everything have to be an app? The website worked fine.
Clunky and misleading
Not good app. Have to use it as its the only way to play competitive doubles but it’s pretty bad. Cant input tiebreak scores. Dates of the divisions are wrong and general navigation extremely clunky and counter intuitive. I could go on…
Suggested times
Whoever thought suggested dates for matches was a good idea, needs a good head shake! Terrible idea.
Lots of room for improvement!
App profiles
I cannot attach a photo to my profile. I chose a photo and nothing happens. Without photos no one can see which games have been played. Why not have names in the results?
Needs so much work
The idea of not sharing contact details is fine.
Allowing leagues to run through the app, ok. But navigation is so poor. The thought behind how it might be used is evident. Cant go from chat to the match you have arranged. So slow and clunky it can only get better
Please fix
When sending messages if you click the three dot message options which allows to pin or mute, you can’t come off that option without exiting the app. The X Button doesn’t work!!!
Well built app, on top of pretty bad ideas!
- Terrible idea 1: Match suggestions dates, which are treated by the system as confirmed matches (I got even an email with the tile “You have a match coming up!” and its wording requiring me to take action to cancel or reschedule a match I NEVER BOOKED or CONFIRMED! Ridiculously conceived, generating unnecessary work or anxiety!
- Terrible idea 2: Launching an incomplete app to replace a perfectly functioning website, which was much more efficient in helping me find courts, see the league history, and look for the leagues closer to me (maps were everywhere). The search in the app is a joke.
- Terrible idea 3: Shut down the website? Force everyone interested in getting to know details of the leagues to install the app?
- Well done: incorporating a chat feature into the app to join the participants or a league (should also have been done on the website FWIW).
- Well done: The developers of the app did a pretty good technical job - the app is smooth and responsive. Shame that this was shadowed by the badly designed user journeys, the incomplete functionality, and the silly decision of deprecating the website.
Website was better
I’ve loved the local tennis league! the website was good.
Why schedule the matches for us? Terrible idea. How do you know our schedules.
The chat function is poor. What was wrong with seeing everyone’s mobile numbers and setting up a WhatsApp group, that worked perfectly. I had hoped the app would be table and stats focused.
