Awful App and Awful Event
I’ve been to this event the past few years and this is the first time I’ve had to use an app to navigate… and it was as useful as the staff working this evening, USELESS.

Much improved Lumiere App for 2023. This should be the perfect place to start your Lumiere trip. It lets you see all the installations plus other facilities and you can select which layer of features you wish to see. There are notes on all the installations too. It’s not completely obvious when choosing a installation to see when jumping to the map. Improvements could be a better numbering system so you can see on page 1 or map view the installation number as well as the one way route and entry system could be a further overlay. if you open an installation from the LIST when it jumps to the map it’s not especially clear it’s location in a mass of other installations. Happily there are a lot of installations. Maybe the icon can be number or the icon changes colour to yellow ( other colour ) to show its location. The toilets icons need to be bigger. The paper map shows this better. But it’s obviously limited. Also perhaps add a W3W “what3words” link to each installation so that your map app can help direct you, especially for the non restricted installation locations. Many folks are not expert at geography. These are just pointers and I am sure the 2025 app will be even more fully featured. The LUMIERE app is CERTAINLY the place to START YOUR TRIP. DO DOWNLOAD IT FROM APPLE OR GOOGLE. It’s free.
Fantastic app. Easy to use and full of helpful info for navigating.
Handy way to find the artworks! Great that it’s free
Lack of clear, practical information like entrance points to ticketed area and park and ride info. The short notes to each installation were interesting, but other than that, didn’t really use the app to navigate or anything
Very surprised by the lack of where to park (or park and ride) or even suggested trails to follow around the city. We didn’t use it in the end.
Really useful to get round the festival!
The map worked really well, and was able to find all of the artworks with ease.
Got a cheap gin with the offers included which warmed me up nicely as I effortlessly followed the glorious map included.
Useless for the festival itself, shameless attempt to farm contact details and badly promote a couple of local restaurants. Map is slow to respond, not enough info to work out routes and doesn’t even include essential information like park and ride sites. Totally unhelpful.
