Lumu Light Meter

Has the best UI out of any of the light meter apps I have tried. This is the only app that I can get accurate spot reflective metering with and has a great zoom in spot meter. Changing between aperture and shutter priority is as easy as tapping on the respective dial. Has great adaptability in the settings so you can tailor the app to your cameras limitations. This has app has replaced my handheld light meter.

The website is changed a bit since I first purchased the product and now more clearly outlines what each metre will do, but for $250 US plus customs and Brokerage, I can’t take a simple lux reading? And to upgrade I have to spend another $150 US… I’ve seen! I would not recommend this as a light meter.

They fixed the incompatibility with my iPhone xs! Works great now!!!

I just got the lumu and used it for a few shoots. Works as expected, flash mode is great and color balance reading seems accurate. Hence it's a very cost effective solution if you need a light meter. It removed the guess work from my flash exposure.

I bought a Lumu light meter and it's not working with this app. I have an iPhone 5c and iOS 10 so what gives?

How do you set a fixed ISO? No instructions, nothing, nada, zip. Deleting app as it is pointless and useless for film.

I first downloaded this at the beginning of my film journey, helped me walk through the door. Now, as a creature out of habit, I still use this app. I’ve learned the nuances of it, so after I meter for the highlights and or shadows I just kinda “have a feel” for it now and use it as a referencing point. And honestly, isn’t that what any light meter app is for with film? Just to give you a stable referencing point for you to play off of?

Great but one broke they would not replace it so I bought another.

This is a fabulous and convenient product that I use on every photoshoot. The color meter mode is essential for my architectural work, and replaces my Gossen color meter. I rely on the incident meter mode as a starting point for my interior shots.

Their website is still up and transacting. Do not buy. They do not respond to support or any requests. This was super convenient. Bummer they shut down operations. They could have at least turned off their website, social media, etc so everybody would know they’ve closed operations…
