Marvel Snap is amazing! If you want a really fun super hero card game, here it is! If your a marvel fan then you’ll see A lot of your favorite superheroes in this awesome game!
Marvel Snap is a well thought out and crafted card game. I can tell that a lot of TLC went into this game. As much as I really enjoy the game, however, I have a few gripes: 1. Unless you are actively spending money on this game or playing 24/7, you will eventually hit a wall where you are rather consistently being outplayed by other players who have access to a better pool of cards. It can feel very uneven at times. 2. There should be non-competitive game modes, like a story mode or practice mode. I don’t always want to play against others for stakes, and sometimes I just want to play test a new deck idea without risking cubes. 3. I feel like there should be certain game modes where you can only run into locations like Weird World or District X, because nothing makes me not want to play a match more than working to build a deck and then having to play another person’s deck or a random assortment of garbage. Overall, I’d still recommend Marvel Snap to people looking for a card battler, but I feel like a few simple tweaks and additions would make this a phenomenal card game.
It’s the best be cause the matches are short ins fun you can play with friends and the cards are so cool
I don’t know if it’s more of a me problem, but at first the game is seemingly rewarding, you win a few start climbing the ladder and stuff and you feel a sense of hope… (like the time my grandfather went to the hospital and his health was making great progress) But the days go by and you start losing large chunks of your progress and you 69 rank quickly drops you down to 63… and your hope becomes dread and despair and you cling on the hope you can climb back up but you fall even further down this pit you dug yourself in. You want to pay to win but you don’t want to spend money on this silly game and each loot box you open just gives you more money to spend on loot boxes. Again this snap trap just keeps pulling you deeper and deeper until you realize…” I just lost everything…” (My grandfather died a few days after the doctors told me he was getting better)
At first, you’ll probably love this game! Balanced gameplay mechanics, cool location affects that can significantly impact the overall game, and marvel details from nerd heaven! But, soon…..You’ll play matches against other players whose whole strategy is to be a jerk to you. You’ll have entire play sessions where opponents quit right before you’re going to win, sprinkled with opponents who play not to win but to punish you for liking the gameplay. You’ll either quit playing (like all of my friends), or you’ll turn to the dark side and start making truly evil decks (like I did). Real fact? My one friend noticed their Apple Watch kept giving them elevated heart rate notifications when they would play Snap. This game stressed them out so much, they ended up deleting the game completely. Personal Stats: - Playing since launch in 2022 (deleted it off my phone and reinstalled it twice) - Purchased at least six season passes (hate microtransactions and paying to get ahead) Finally….If you’ve made it this far - download and play at your own risk! Currently my love of marvel (and playing limited-time wasting games on my phone) have kept me in it, but more and more I find myself quitting the app in disgust and needing to ‘take a break’. The next time I delete this app, it’s staying deleted.
Just like all marvel games, this is pay to win. They advertise it as it’s not but once you understand how their matchmaking works you’ll see what I mean. You HAVE to spend money to get anything good. As they nerf all existing cards. And the only way to make good “meta” decks is to buy every new card. How do you do that? Well you either spend money or you play for 3-4 months before you get enough in game currency to buy tokens. They constantly skim through and delete any negative reviews. Their matchmaking is deck based. They match you against decks that can beat your deck. For instance if you have an enchantress and rogue. You will rarely come across ongoing. But if you don’t ongoing decks are common. If you carry armor and Cosmo you never see destroy decks, but if you don’t they constantly pop up. Basically you WILL get matched against your deck. You can literally climb their system by changing decks every 1-2matches and you’ll constantly win. On top of it, if you come up with a good deck, YouTubers WILL steal them and claim them and then the whole community gets the deck. So it’s pretty much trashed after 1-2 good hours of play bc you’ll come across a whole bunch of people with YOUR EXACT deck out of nowhere. It’s boring. Hate this game.
P2W
Will nerf every card that’s already bad and keep the op cards to play against again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again and again, there’s hundreds of cards in the game but 90% are useless against the meta. Typical fate of marvel and card games I suppose.
You work to the bone to get a spotlight key then it gives you a card you already own three variants of. You buy a card then you get it in the next reserve.
