Perfect app for tracking food intake and connecting with my coach.
I am trying to save a post and the “Save” button overlaps the very top right of the screen on the status bar. I can see the button but am unable to click it so I can’t save anything.
I like the idea of this app, as I was looking for an easy way to track what I eat. Taking photos has proven the best option for me. I’ve tried other apps that log calories but I get too hung up on accuracy and lose focus on the big picture. The app is super buggy and doesn't always work. Seems to be getting worse with the iOS upgrades and makes me think this app isn’t actively being developed anymore.
Easy to use. I am not terribly interested in photographing every bite of food, but I am interested in logging the food groups I have eaten. It would be really useful if this app provided a daily summary of how many servings of all the food groups I've eaten, and even weekly and monthly averages and trends. Also, if it allowed half servings of all the food groups instead of just some of them (even allowing manual entry of # of servings in addition to +/- entry).
This app has some unique features and a lot of potential -- but there is NO attention to privacy control. At all. The food tracking system is great. It uses photos and "servings": you mark how many servings of grains, vegetables, etc. are in your meal. You can create as many entries as you want for any meal type, so if you eat 3 or 4 snacks a day? No problem, they'll each be a separate photo post. And there's no emphasis on calories, which is fantastic (though the info is there if you do want it). But there's not a word of transparency about data sharing! Each food entry looks exactly like a social media post, with likes and comments ... and absolutely no indication of where it's going or who can see it. I would have been satisfied with a blanket "Opt out of all sharing" toggle, under Settings. At least I could still use the food logging and nutrition parts of the app. But there isn't even that. If you join a Group, other group members can definitely see your meal posts. But if you change your mind, there is NO apparent way to leave a group. Not on the group page, or under account settings ... within the app OR on the website. And you can't just hide your posts, either. This could be a really simple, helpful, usable food tracker -- as soon as the devs address its huge neglect of privacy. Other than that, there are a few general changes that would be nice: More options on custom nutrition plans. Let us have maximum servings of a thing, not just minimum servings. And "X servings of (multiple food groups)," so I can have, for instance, fish OR meat OR dairy and still meet my targets. Water measurements: ideally custom glass sizes, or at least being able to add "X number of oz/ml" throughout the day.
Have to sign up for an account to use. No thanks.
Performance stability Health app sync!
Edit: The UI issues are real issues, it turns out. The concept is great, but there are errors and stuff that make this harder to use than it should be. Original: I used to use calorie counting apps frequently, getting decent results, but I sometimes found that too cumbersome/tedious, particularly when eating out. And sometimes the focus on calories in/calories out/nutrient counting meant having days where I ate less than wholesome food (processed) that looked deceptively ok when plugged into an app (within calorie budget, added vitamins in ingredients, etc.). I switched to counting servings of food types, but was left wondering about energy balance. So being able to estimate calories consumed from servings of food types is magical! The UI is less than intuitive, though. It took a minute to figure out where to find the calorie estimates, and tracking exercise isn't nearly as easy as tracking food. I wish I could export calorie estimate data to HealthKit and possibly import exercise data. I also wish for further customization of nutrition plans (for different sized bodies and needs like pregnancy or breastfeeding). But this is a mostly a great app. Thanks!
Seems like app not updated for long time which has lead to slowness of app overall and frequent crashes. Hopefully developer can update the app.
Deleted the app after 2 seconds, because apparently it doesn't work without account. Why do I need an account to log the food I eat? I think logging on to a network should be optional, not mandatory.
