MediaSilo Go by Shift

June 24, 2023. 9:40PM. Please take this App off of the store. IT DOES NOT FUNCTION. I’m looking into bringing a lawsuit against the company for falsely selling it to my organization.

I was sent a downloadable link and was unable to download it. I clicked download, instead of just downloading the link it took me to the app download page. I reluctantly gave over to this forced marketing and downloaded the app. Which then forced me to open an account. I did that too (allowing me to go on their span lists) and it opened into a generic account without a link to the file I did all this to download. I have no idea how to download my link, because when I go back to the page where the link exists, the cycle just continues. Now I’m getting on a plane and can’t review this link in time for the deadline. Just terrible. A download link should, you know, JUST DOWNLOAD. Not force me to go through a series of data mining steps… and then not work anyway.

App still doesn’t work

MediaSilo wasn’t perfect by any means but Shift feels like a step backwards. The app is really buggy and not nearly as intuitive as it should be. It has some goofy security features too like needing to send you an email code to open it if you don’t use it for a bit, and that’s not an option to turn off. In fact there are almost no options. The mobile app gives you very little control over your content. The desktop app isn’t much better frankly, but that’s a different story. I miss MediaSilo.
