Pls make kid Tripp on iOS
Been playing platformers since the 80s. Just picked this up today. This game is one of the best platformers there is. Nintendo ought to hire the guys who made this.
Love the game, but it has started me over to the very beginning of the game twice. I’m going to delete because it’s frustrating to pass so many stages just to log in and be back at the very beginning!
It’s very strange how no one in any of the other reviews mentions it, but be warned — this game is REALLY HARD. For reference, I’ve completed hundreds of games in my life and many of them difficult, so it’s not like I’m new to gaming or really “casual”. This game is so hard, be prepared to play a single level 100 times before passing it. You will come to parts where you keep dying and have no idea how to proceed — dying hundreds of times in the process. And to add insult to injury, the game keeps track of your deaths and throws it in your face constantly. How about some checkpoints, devs? That’s not to say this is a bad game, because it’s not. It’s just a game most people will NOT enjoy due to difficulty. Also, as other reviews have indicated, this is a “runner” type of game where you don’t control your movement, only jumps and attacks. So buy at your own risk.
I have literally played this game NONSTOP since I got it. Charming writing, brilliant characters (there's a dog you get to play as!!! How much cooler can it get) not to mention - my favorite part - super easy to learn. Just 2 buttons, but insanely challenging and always unique levels!!!! Yesss!!!!!
I love platform games. I don't necessarily love runners. This has the feel of a platformer although technically it is a runner. Right from the start I could tell this was the sequel to Kid Tripp. When I found out Kid Tripp 2 wasn't out I was disappointed. Then all of a sudden I happen to stumble on this game via twitter because I follow the creator Mike Burns. I was thrown off by the title but after watching a video I knew it was Kid Tripp reimagined and as I would soon find out way better. The game is just plain addicting and fun from start to finish. Challenging doesn't begin to describe this game. Good luck. Even after you have fought levels for hundreds of deaths to move on and have beaten the game you can still find joy in trying to climb the leaderboards in total complete games, number of deaths, score, etc. The level design is similar yet different and the added bosses are brilliant in design and play. When I saw only 13 reviews I was upset. This game needs to be played by everyone who loves platform games. I absolutely couldn't be happier with this experience. Thank you to Mike and your entire team. This game brings me back to the days I still remember when I first played through Mario or Sonic. Bravo!
This game is incredible it has its own unique style! I love the story and the graphics. I hope there's a part 3 to this!!
This is an endless runner game.
I absolutely love this game to bits! The story is lighthearted and funny and the graphics and animation are really charming. This game is fast and challenging but like other reviewers have said, doable with just the right amount of effort. I never once felt frustrated to the point that I wanted to stop playing. There's a real sense of achievement when completing a level and it's really gratifying to punch through the Clear board at the end of the level. The pacing in this game is perfect and really pairs well with such clever level design. The different abilities and gameplay mechanics keep everything fresh and interesting. I love Kilo's targeting attack and it's really fun to chain them together. I think it's great that rather than playing through a level with Kilo alone, he hilariously drags Miles through the stage by his leash. I picked up this game after reading a pretty enthusiastic review on toucharcade and hadn't heard of Kid Tripp before. After playing this I purchased Kid Tripp and while it's a great game itself, it really gave me an idea of how much the Dev has grown with Miles and Kilo. I've played through story mode twice now and have scored an A ranking on all but 1 stage in practice mode and I still can't put this game down.
I love this adventure island clone! I would recommend this to my 8-bit loving friends! :D
