Miller Weld Setting Calculator

So why are some measurements provided in imperial and metric and others only in imperial? I know miller is American but you are the only developed country using imperial. And the fact you have it in some options and not others is a little frustrating. Also as I move through the menus it doesn’t actually wait for me to hit the ‘next’ button to progress. As soon as I stop the up or down roll on the selector the app just assumes I’m done and off we go to the next menu. This is more than annoying especially in the mmaw menu where the selection of rods is quite long so you have to stop sliding to move your finger up/down to continue sliding but are suddenly faced with having to go back a menu because it’s decided you are ready to progress. If you were to improve the app I would say have an option to have imperial or metric measurements as an option in a settings menu and fix the ‘app deciding I’m ready to progress faster than a teen boy in his first time’ bug.

This is a great app (considering it’s free) to get you in the “ballpark”. Everything else is up to you. Covers the most common materials welded.

Great app, would like to have metric conversions for metal thickness to make life easier.

Great idea, but alas no consideration for the majority of the world who do NOT use fractions of inches to measure thickness...

FIX PROBLEMS AND UPDATE CONTENTS , UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For a free app it covers the basics nicely, though it would be good if it covered more metal types (like titanium). The data display isn't consistent between welding processes which is a little confusing. Being a mostly American orientated app it's metric data is a bit inconsistent too, not appearing at all for TIG weld data and being straight conversions from imperial metal thickness standards rather than typical metric sizes - eg. 12ga/2.6mm instead of 3mm, 3/16"/4.8mm instead of 5mm, and so on. Gas rates are also in CFH (cubic feet per hour) or PSI rather than L/min (litres per minute) which is more typical in metric countries. Again, for a free app they're minor gripes, but if it had a proper "metric" mode that'd be something I'd pay folding money for.

This app will get you by in a pinch but it would be nice to see an updated version with newer settings or something closer to look like the multimatic setup where you select process, gas, wire, etc and it gives recommended settings based on the parameters.

The most common why are used for mild steel. It’s .030 but yet you hardly cover it Try going to Lowe’s Home Depot, or any place like that and buy 035 wire you won’t find it but you’ll find 030

Do you know if/when this app will be updated to include some of the newer tech option guidelines. i.e. Pulsed spray arc transfer or your new RMD?
