That’s such an amazing product! I was very disappointed when you removed the one-time payment as I didn’t buy it back then. I'm so glad I haven't deleted the program and noticed your recent update regarding logo change. Anyway, just to make the long story short - I’ve bought the one-time option to support you and eventually migrate from that major competitor to your product.
This was a really promising password manager; but with the switch to a subscription only service, and the fact that it hasn’t been updated in 7 months, I can no longer recommend this app, and I’m honestly wondering if it has become abandonware.
The developers straight up lie and gaslight people by saying “lifetime is and always was a completely unsustainable business model” and yet that’s how software has worked for the majority of its existence. Get Strongbox, has a one-time payment and developers who are sociopathic in their greed, because you should never trust your private information with people who are not honest and won’t let you own the product.
I installed this app on my iPhone and Mac. I was really excited for a real native 1password alternative. I added some logins I routinely use. The auto fill setup was easy, but it simply didn’t fill in safari on the mac or on my iPhone. I sent a video to the developer showing the issue. If the developer fixes it, I’ll change my review but until then I can’t recommend this app.
Have been a Minimalist user for two years now. Previously, I have used LastPass, Bitwarden, MSecure, KeePass, and others. So far, Minimalist is the overall winner in my book. Pros: ONE time purchase of license. I am SOO sick of the "subscription" model all these other services sneak in after you've already paid for something. True minimalist design. We don't need fancy schmancy glitzy UI's for something with such a singular mission as a password manager. Development team that truly listens to its customer base. No reported security breaches as of 2023. Looking at YOU LastPass. Cons: - Only works in the Apple/iCloud ecosystem.
It is nice to find software that feels right at home in the Apple ecosystem.
After my previous password manager went to a subscription model, I moved to Minimalist. It does everything I need, doesn't require a periodic payment. I am very pleased iwth Minimalist
Confusing. Formatting instructions unclear. Lately there have been repeated up-sells to prevent being limited to 10 edits, (whatever that means.) Password broke after trying to follow instructions to remove the upsell (which returned). Fortunately, there is a setting allowing permanently unlocking with face ID.
There are whole lot of password managers out there. Most of them are chock full of pointless features and have abysmal UIs. Despite its name, Minimalist has almost all of the features an Apple user would need (still waiting on icons!), and it does so in an interface that's refreshingly human.
