The “teen slang” section is laughable - a lot of the phrases tagged as “dangerous” or “sexual” are harmless. Your child typing the number “9” isn’t code for “9 mm handgun”. “Snacc” hasn’t been “used to describe someone sexy” in a decade. It means snack. Were actual teens used to make this, or did you use Urban Dictionary???
While many kids might not like this app, it’s an amazing tool for parents to monitor your child’s online activity. It allows you to tailor the phone to your needs (lock it down to text and call only or allow approved apps etc) PLUS it alerts you if there is any harmful activity like bullying, drugs, self harm etc. You can see reports at the end of the day about how your child spends their time on the phone and you can control any app or feature remotely through the parent app. There are no loopholes to get on the internet. I love it, it definitely gives me peace of mind.
A trial a few different phone apps, bark, etc. and this one just beat them all out, especially with androids. I have an iPhone, but I’m able to limit apps on my daughters, android phones, limit contents, limit time of use, and limit texts. This has been a godsend. i’m able to give my eight-year-old a phone and it doesn’t have search engine access or social media limited use for some educational games so essentially she gets to call people on a contact list that I specify and receive texts and send text to that same contact list my older daughters availability, Internet, and other apps which are age appropriate. Because of this, none of my children from age age to age 16 have ever been on social media… So they don’t have to deal with the rampant cancer that is the social contagion of social media. As their focuses are on school, playing outside, and talking with friends via text and not sitting in front of their phones, mindlessly posting on socials. I also see every single text that I want to. for my older girls they have access to the Internet, but I don’t allow bad websites like pr0n etc. This app is the bomb.
Love MM Guardian! Helps me feel at peace with knowing I can monitor and have conversations with my kids when needed as tough or inappropriate situations arise.
I didn’t have high hopes, but this has been fantastic. Complete control of everything. No junk calls/text. It has been amazing so far. Some difficulty with setup and instructions aren’t the best. Takes a lot of trial and error to figure some things out but worth the effort for sure.
DOES NOT WORK
The app is the best
This app is definitely worth the purchase ‼️‼️
The child app is super buggy and quite the annoyance for the kid. Lucky for them, it is easily uninstalled from their phone. Even when the app was installed, all they had to do to bypass any limitation is keep trying repeatedly. As a parent I cannot trust this software. Edit in respond to developer comment: I don’t appreciate the way that your response implies that I did not have things set up properly. I did.
