Best one out there so far for me. Great sync with desktop from mobile. Really good tree placement

Just downloaded and it doesn’t work.

Does everything you could possibly want. Graphically pleasing, rich in functionality, easy to use and with CloudTree enables use across multiple devices and storage of evidence, photos, certificates etc. I particularly like the places gazetteer geo-spatial functionality that enables you to see the geographical connections and journeys over time. I have well over 2000 entries in my tree and it’s always a source of family conversation - and I can share the reports and views straight onto a TV over wifi from my iPhone. Love it!

Very good application. Just needs a relationship to start person on each relation without having to call up a chart.

MobileFamilyTree has a complete feature set allowing the same level of data capture as any desktop application. From very detailed events to full referencing, it is superb. The Stories are a nice recent addition. The only two features it is missing are editing the World History and direct syncing with MacFamilyTree, without going through iCloud.

Bought with one specific purpose, to split my tree held GEDCOM file into smaller sub trees. The Remove Subtree feature sounded like the perfect solution. Loaded my GEDCOM containing 700+ people, proceeded to configure the Remove Subtree feature, hit the button and bang, the app simply crashes. Reloaded it to find nothing has happened, re-tried multiple times, each time reducing the volume of people that would be removed in the hope it was a memory related issue, but all without success. Raised a support ticket which has so far gone unanswered. Thinking there may be something dodgy within my GEDCOM file, I created a new tree from scratch within this app, this consisted of just 4 people across 3 generations. Configured Remove Subtree again to remove 2 of the 4 people, hit the button thinking surely this much simplified arrangement would actually work. Sadly, no it doesn’t, the app just crashes as it has done on every attempt. This is not a great experience, can see why there is no trial or ‘lite’ version offered in the store, as if there was, I certainly wouldn’t have parted with £29.99 on this experience. In it’s current state this app is unfit for purpose and in any other walk of life I would be marching into the shop to demand a refund. If anyone from the authors actually reads these reviews, please can I request you either fix it promptly or give me a full refund.

It doesnt do what it says. Tried importing . Sure it fave me a file by the same name as my gedcom vbut it was empty

I was recently confused by the app switching me away from my default Flat view. Although there are many flashy tree styles, most actually reduce the visibility of information. The 2D Flat view is still there though and I don’t know why it decided to switch me. The only two features it is missing are editing the World History and direct syncing with MacFamilyTree, without going through iCloud.

This is a fine upgrade from the previous version and that was already excellent. It has so many features which I’d not expect in an iPad app. It doesn’t have all the Mac versions features but all the main ones certainly are and beautifully designed and the new “card” layout is a big step forward in practicality and design clarity. Very impressed. And SPH, Apple don’t allow discounts in the App Store after purchase - the price you see is the price you pay. Synium had already cut the price to 50% when you bought it but it’s still worth it if you pay 100% though!

This is a fantastic app for anyone who wants to put together a family tree that other people will want to look at. The whole user experience (iPad and Mac) is to the highest standard, with an excellent interface and comprehensive functionality. The app feels thoroughly up to date, unlike some of its competitors that seem to have been left in the 1990s.
