Mockup - UI & UX

I am using Mockup now for about three months and I must say, overall I am very dissapointed. First of all, I am a pro-user with over 25 years of professional experience in design and UI/UX. Normally I use tools like XD, Sketch, Figma, Photoshop, AfterFX and Illustrator for my workflows but I liked the idea of trying something new and using my 12“ ipad pro to do prototyping. Browsing the app store, I found Mockup and started my 7 day trial. I liked certain aspects of it and signed up for a whole year. Here is my honest review… A few of the things I dislike in Mockup: Can’t lock objects or layers or both Search for icons by tags Drawing and placing objects everywhere and not just on a canvas No manual transformation or rotation values when placing objects Canvases are way to restricted using device templates Design libraries are outdated and missing important new features Prototyping is buggy as hell and not useable Previewing prototypes takes ages … I still love the idea behind it and hope you (the developer) are going to fix these issues very soon. Until then Mockup is not usable for professional work in my opinion.

Why can’t I rotate sketches, why, this is so stupid, or am I stupid. Pls tell me

Die Idee ist gut, doch das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist nicht gut. Es fehlen einfach zu viele Elemente für die Views usw. Generell sind es zu wenig Elemente für MockUps.

Ich finde deine App Super! Ich verwende die App selbst für meine Apps. Ich bitte um mehr default widgets/examples/Elements

- Doppelte Menüeinträge (mit gleichem Namen) - doppelt vergebene Shortcuts (im Menü) - keine Möglichkeit, ein neues Projekt anzulegen (gibt nur einen Cancel-Button, aber keinen "Weiter" oder "Ok" Button) Insgesamt eine schlechte, undurchdachte Umsetzung einer iOS-App auf dem Desktop. (wie so oft) Anmerkung: Liebe Entwickler-Kollegen, wenn ihr iOS-Anwendungen auf den Desktop portiert, dann denkt bitte an die Usability! Eine Desktop-Anwendung funktioniert nunmal anders und wird nunmal anders bedient, als eine iOS-Anwendung. Wenn ich auf dem Desktop mit iOS "spielen" will, installiere ich mir den iOS-Simulator und keine halbfertige, lustlose Playground-Umsetzung.

I really like this app. It's practically the only decent wireframing app in the entire AppStore. The only thing that really doesn't work is the pricing model. I recently thought that 40€ for the lifetime payment is expensive but okay - but then the price was increased to 80€. Sorry but for 40€ I probably would have bought it, but not for 80€. I prefer to build my wireframes with Procreate instead of Mockups. That cost only 10€ and not 80€ for a lifetime access. Think about your pricing model, then more people will buy it.

Best App ever!

Leaves you guessing how to do anything, particularly how to link different screens and get to the interactive parts. Seems more like a low-feature static drawing app with some templates. Canceled my trial well before it ended.

The app lacks a horrendous amount of functionality, I don’t know if I’m just not looking in the right place but I clicked and explored every menu in the app and here’s what you can’t do: You can’t change the border radius of a shape, or add a border at all, so if you want a rounded border for a button, you’re forced to use an “Element”, and with this element, you can’t add a border, and the border radius is not changeable. You can’t create standard gradients on shapes, you either have to manually shade it in or import a picture of a gradient and hope it’s right. You can’t do anything to images you import, you can import and image, and that’s it. No border radius, no color settings, no crop setting, no shadow or reflection settings. You can’t create shadows or glow at all, not a big deal but still an issue. With this app you basically get apples notes app with a list of ui elements, it’s not useful, apples freeflow serves better use than this app for now. EDIT: The developer did respond and let me know you can change border radius for everything, it needs to be much much more obvious because I spent almost an hour in the app on 2 platforms and couldn’t find it
