Modern Deluxe guitar amp

I bought this on my Mac, got it for free on iOS. This does not happen often on premium apps let alone budget ones from small developers. I’ve not been able to test it on the desktop yet, but if it’s anywhere near the quality of the iOS, it’s gonna be amazing. I have paid hundreds for an amp sim and not been as pleased, it really is that good. The controls are on the small side but, not unusable despite this, they respond very well even on an old iPad Mini 2. I have since bought his other guitar amp sims, which are equally as good, maybe even better?

So this is a great little compact set of effects, and I wondered why I hadn’t heard of it, seems it’s only out a month. First, it’s great. Second, the controls are miniature, can barely read them on my 12.9 inch ipad Pro 2. But, I can’t bring myself to dock a star for it. So, if the developer could find a way to magnify the size of the dials etc, that would be great, they are on the verge of impossible to use, is the truth! But, this has a lot of good qualities, a set of effects and amplifier fundamentals, I refuse to be negative on this superb app - but if you could ponder those tiny controls, that would be great, Julian? Still, love it. How the stomp boxes ‘appear’ is a little obscure - there’s some arrows atop the section of the amp they will show in, and by hitting this or that arrow you make a stompbox appear, and can change the order of them, which is important - a quite expensive FX app at the moment, I seem to recall, doesn’t do this yet. I got the bass one and the ‘standard’ one, haven’t explored the differences as yet, but one will be the EQ of the bass version, will emphasise the lower two thirds of the audible frequency range I expect.

I’ve got a few amp sims here. This one sounds great for a clean tone. The drum loop player built in is handy for practice, and more interesting to play with than a standard metronome click. The UI is a little clunky, and difficult to steer through. My Focusrite Scarlett Solo that I use with my iPad means that my guitar comes through input 2. The plugin defaults to input 1, as many do. The clickable area to change this is quite small, and took me a few times to get right. Maybe I have huge fingers, but I don’t have this issue in other apps. Also, for some reason, I only have audio output on a single channel, including the drum loop output. There doesn’t appear to be any way to change the output though. Again, it’s a great, clean tone. The UI could use some love, and then it’s a fantastic experience!
