Useful and cute application for personal accounting

Have loved this app for the last 6 months because it doesn’t just track, it lets you create a budget easily and see how much you have left per category as well as overall. But recent changes mean this is no longer possible - really hope the overall budget figure gets added back in or k will have to find a new app!

I’ve been using Money Lover for years but the latest update not only broke all my categories but also deleted all the budgets I had set up. I used to have budgets set for each month for the next 12 months. These have all disappeared since the update. This means all my financial planning has gone and I have to re-do them all as well as remember any non-regular expenses that I had planned for in the future as this app was the only way I had noted and planned for them. The way the budgeting is set up seems to have changed too. I used to have a total budget for each month that I could then click into and see it broken down by categories. It would show any money that had been budgeted for the month that still wasn’t assigned a category as well but now it just lists all categories for all months in one big list. A lot less easy for me to use when I was used to being able to plan each month separately. It also allows the sum of all budgets for the individual categories to be greater than the budget for ‘all categories’. This makes it really difficult for me as I liked to set an overall budget for the month and then break that down into categories. This is no longer possible. Really wish I had not updated as it has really broken all my budgeting. May have to look elsewhere for an app that better meets my needs which is a shame as I had been using this app for many years with no issue.

The update force you to accept combining your categories. It completely changes the structure of all my categories. All categories become a parent category on its own. Some category got lost. I now cannot delete or merge a category. Also why do you have to remove the web app. I know you re-launch it but it is only read-only and its useless. The widget is now become a simple button. This is getting worse!

I have used money lover for 9 years and until today I would of given it 5 stars without hesitation. Today I went to do a manual backup as I often do. Instead the all decided to log me out, I have no access to my wallets and the password reset is not issuing the email. This is simply put, unacceptable as not only do I have no way of now deleting my private information, I have no way to see what funds are in what wallets without having to access all my bank accounts, stocks and bonds etc…. If this is the status quo going forward then I have no choice but to use another wallet which is incredibly inconvenient and disappointing. To the dev who replied, I’ve been a premium member since day 1. I’ve always had it since it was cheap as chips and it’s stayed with my account ever since . It is your cloud service that screwed it up and how it syncs and locks you out of a profile. Stop adding loads of pointless features and junk and over complicating what was, a very good app. Sort the bugs for sure, but you keep adding features that are not wanted or needed and are essentially bloatware and what’s worse, some of them don’t even work as intended. Been using this for months and extremely useful. The best part is it has a widget that let you put in expense transaction with customizable categories. It has now replaced with a useless widget that work like a normal icon. 1 star for that.

Helpful for tracking expenses, but there are a few things in the UI that could be improved (especially for Premium members): - categories cannot be edited once they’ve been created - it would be great if we could change category icon backgrounds - would be helpful to choose a “main” bank to display on the home page / be able to rearrange what is displayed

i paid 17.99 pounds to upgrade this money lover app. but why am i still unable to get in and still requesting an upgrade for 17.99 pounds?

I have forgotten my password, but password reset isn’t available for Hotmail account. An alternative solution is a pin code to use on a computer, which I don’t have access to. Four years of records now lost. No support. Can someone please explain why no Hotmail help? I’m logged out, so cannot change my email
