Mony - UPI for Tourists & NRIs

This app is a must for expats , tourists and NRIs visiting India who do not posses an Indian bank account , I connected my US credit card with this app and I was in business! Very easy and intuitive to use , reliable and light , this app made my stay in India so much more smoother than it would have been dealing with cash and cards. I used it for making Delhi metro payments for 13 rupees to 13000 without an issue . You do have a first day limit of 5000 though but that is common for all UPI apps. You can use bar code and UPI ID to pay with , only feature that was missing was pulling your contact list to pay a contact on your phone but I didn’t mind it that much. All in all it is. Wonderful little financial tool in your packet for a worry free stay in India when it comes to making payments at least , cannot protect you from Dengue though !

It took not 24 hours, 48 hours, but good week for them to contact me after I uploaded my personal info. Now they want to do in person KYC…. I have already left India and do not want them having any of my personal info.

I haven’t used the app yet, but has questions about the app and the ‘contact us’ link took me to live WhatsApp chat who immediately responded and helped answer all my questions. The online verification is great, as it would help you start using the app from anywhere, rather than having to be in a big city/ airport.
