I've always loved this app, but since the iOS and app updates, it is constantly deleting ALL my data, the students and settings I've created! There has been a TON of information lost! PLEASE FIX THIS SOON!!!
More Fun With Directions HD is engaging and fun. Perfect for students who struggle with receptive language and concepts of in, under, and more. With 3 levels of difficulty and 12 different concepts presented with fun visuals and great feedback, the user will quickly begin to understand the concepts and improve direction following ability. This app is a winner with my special needs students who enjoy the special effects when they choose correctly. Educators will love the ability to track progress and set up for more then one player. As the child plays the score is shown and if the concept presented is a new one. The settings are easy to set and navigate. As with ";Fun with Directions" this app is colorful, easy to use and a winner.
More Fun With Directions HD is a very nicely done app by Hamaguchi Apps. The app is wonderfully customizable and offers the ability to store and track student and/or group progress. There are three modes of practice: easy, intermediate, and advanced. Intermediate is the standard setting and offers two step directives with multi-choice answers. Easy mode offers one choice view alongside one-step directive prompts. Advanced mode offers multi-step directives and multi-choice answers with several choices provided in close similarity to test if child has listened closely. Each mode offers a Super-Star mode in which a directive is offered, acted out, then repeated back using the self-record option. I found this app to be very useful and believe it will provide ample practice for all children working on understanding and following directions properly. For children who struggle with processing or have a specific learning disability or cognitive disability/delay, or are on the spectrum, this app would be perfect to use as a means of implementing skills practice in understanding terms like: front, behind, above, etc. It will also assist in helping students understand and apply how to follow multi-step directives, which can be a difficult skill to master. Something I did notice is that for up and down, a child's understanding if those terms may not be properly recorded: for example a child chose a grey squirrel instead of a black squirrel to go down the tree. The app recoded the child did not comprehend the direction prompt for down, when in fact, the child did not properly differentiate the color black and grey. Every squirrel was going down and only needed tapped to go down, therefore, this data was not properly gathered by the app. Another very minor detail I would like to see changed is the constant request to place an ice cream cone on furniture such as a bed or sofa. While it may seem silly to some, to parents who may find food constantly placed inappropriately about the house, perhaps another item could be placed there instead. Regardless of these facts, this is a superb app and one worth having and using! I certainly recommend it! Reviewed by: LSAppleby
Another great following directions app. Lots of directons to choose from. I like the different levels as well. I like the superstar directions and think the update is great. Overall, great job!
Great job just like Fun with Directions. I like the different customization tools and wide variety of concepts to work on. The update with all of the new features is great. The app design and visual appeal is great and it runs really smoothly now. Overall, great directions app.
I am unable to use individual settings for each child in a group. It will only let me use settings for an entire group. If I have a student that I want to use "advanced" directions and a student I want to use "beginner" directions, it's not letting me. And it won't allow me to just select 2 users for a session. They have to be added to a group, and then I run into my settings issue. I have tried creating their individual settings and then adding them to the group, but it doesn't keep their settings. I also can't individualize the concepts when they are in a group. This app is not useful to me if I can't individualize the settings for each student in my group.
This is perfect follow up to Fun With Directions! It takes all the concepts and moves to the next level! The app is perfect for kids with language delays, and need a bit of help with a bit more complex directions! The animations in the app make it very kid-friendly, and it is done with a white, non-distracting background. My child loves the app, not seeming to even notice how much he is learning the entire time!
This is great! Love the three options and and using it as a worksheet. Being able show and follow the steps at my kids own pace was a big plus. We were using the other version but have switched to this one during SLP and OT and implemented it with step instructions and it is really helping a lot. One of the goals has and is multiple step directions and this really helps my son. He listens well but putting the steps together was hard. I highly recommend.
My children loved this app! They follow the instructions to drag the object to the correct place while learning colors and directions. The pictures are bright and my kids love when the monkey climbs up the tree or the car drives away! Very easy for kids to play without assistance.
