This app has a lot of potential with its various features, particularly for prayer time notifications. However, the notification sounds leave much to be desired and significantly detract from the overall experience. There are three categories for athan notifications: 1. Athan Sounds: Unfortunately, all of the athan sounds provided are low quality and impractical to use as notifications. It’s not ideal, especially since hearing the athan in inappropriate places, like the bathroom, can feel disrespectful. 2. Dedicated Sounds: This is the default setting, but it’s far from ideal. The sound of a man speaking in Arabic to announce prayer times is jarring, especially in a quiet setting. It’s unsettling and can even be terrifying when you’re alone, as it feels like a random voice is speaking in your room. The quality of the sound is also subpar. 3. Tones: This is the most reasonable option, but it needs significant improvement. While there are a few tones, such as bird sounds, water, and telephone rings, they are poorly recorded and often contain a noticeable hiss. Some even sound like they were re-recorded from older sources, like the classic iPhone ringtone, and they don’t sound good at all. This category should be the default, but it desperately needs more variety and better quality. There are plenty of high-quality notification sounds available online, and the developer should replace the existing ones with at least 50 new, clean, and diverse tones, including both short and longer options. This would give users the flexibility to customize each prayer time notification. If the app’s sound options were improved, it would elevate the experience immensely. Right now, the lack of quality and variety is holding it back from being a truly great app. I will gladly give it 5 stars if these issues are addressed, but for now, it’s a 1-star experience.
