Developed by the world's top-selling electric trolley brand, the Motocaddy mobile app is a free to use GPS rangefinder that utilises the world’s #1 database of GPS-enabled golf courses to provide key distances, hazard information and hole data for over 40,000 golf courses worldwide.
The latest app version has been completely redesigned and now includes a host of visual and user enhancements, lifesaving AED & CPR features (available in the UK & Ireland only), plus statistical tracking to help golfers gain further insight into their game.
The Motocaddy GPS app has also been developed to allow pairing with any Motocaddy 'CONNECT' trolley model via a Bluetooth® connection on a compatible smartphone; allowing the trolley's screen to display front, middle and back distances to the green along with par of the hole and clock. Awful User Experience
Don’t be misled into thinking that the Motocaddy trolley display provides you hole by hole layout and hazard information. it doesn’t. You have to pay an annual subscription for it. And connecting the trolley to the subscription doesn’t even work. And don't get me started on the useless technical support. Copy and pasting an extract from the manual and emailing it to users is not support.
Your average smart watch golf app is better than this so save your money. This has been an expensive mistake.

Though sometimes not perfectly accurate with distance, it is a great tool and works perfectly. Use it every time I go out
Poor App
I just bought the M5 GPS. It GREAT on the course in my experience BUT the App is rubbish.
- you can’t show the entire round on one screen, not even 9 holes
- it shows on the summary page Fairways hit and greenhead, but even though I entered the data, the overview per hole shows an X at every hole
- Doesn’t seem to be any aggregate analysis information overtime…eg progress in the last month, this round compared to last round. Basic stuff you see in may apps
I’m disappointed…. Given the success of the product itself, this software backbone needs to quickly and urgently be brought up to par (no pun intended). It wouldn’t seem to me to be an expensive upgrade as all the data is there.

M5 Motocaddy
I have to delete the app and download and reload every time I use it with my new trolley.☹️
What’s wrong with App
So bought an M5 connect which uses this app to connect to for pin and distance etc. I might has well have bought an M1 as to connect to this app is really difficult. Out of 10 games I’ve used the trolley, I’ve managed to connect the app twice. The connection between the phone and the trolley is ok as it comes up every time, but trying to get the app to work is a complete waste of time. Not sure why, but I’ll never buy another Motocaddy again and this is my third one. If Motocaddy are going to expect players to use their app, then surely they can get it to work 99% of the time. I could have saved myself a couple of hundred £££ and the stress of knowing whether I can use the trolley for my distances or not. Feel very let down
