Took months to get working, seems like I was getting ignored at motu support online. But have had email problems, looking forward to actually getting to use the new feature finally. Will review once I have had a proper day with the app
Ultralite AVB connected via network cable into Mac. Discovered by the Mac app and being used to record, but the iOS app just isn't seeing anything despite being on the same network as the Mac. Fix up MOTU
I’ve invested in multiple MOTU devices and watched demos showing how awesome it is to control them with an iPad. I contacted tech-support and never got any answers. This is just sad and frustrating, using a web browser to control isn’t much better. The whole reason I went with MOTU was to control the devices, mix levels, routing paths, etc.. As time goes on, I feel like I went with the wrong company, but now I’m in too deep. MOTU, please, you sell solutions, but you don’t come thru on supporting your customers. Do I need to sell everything and start over with another manufacturer? 5 years? Forget about using a magic keyboard with this app.
The iPad app works occasionally but the iPhone app doesn’t work at all. Doesn’t find my 8Pre-es.
With no updates to fix the connectivity problem with the UI’s, it makes me think the company might be in trouble. I thought that maybe the updates weren’t needed because the platform was rock solid. Like Apple software back in the day. Now I am a skeptic. What a shame.
The app would be at least 4 stars if it would consistently find my MOTU 8PreES, but it typically does not find it and repeatedly disconnects. This app hasn’t been updated in 3 years!!! If you think it will be fixed, think about what 3 years of no updates means. For the app to see my 8PreES, I have to disconnect my iPad from wifi and reconnect. Then it will typically find my interface and connect. Unfortunately it will eventually disconnect. Sometimes it will reconnect automatically after a while. Sometimes I have to disconnect my iPad from wifi and reconnect again. Sometime it will appear to be connected when it is not. Very frustrating when in need of a quick adjustment. I use my 8PreES all day long between my real job, streaming, music work, video editing, etc. Since I use it for a lot of real time mixing, I count on the MOTU App. I hope they will update it, but I frequently wish I had bought something else because of the app issues.
It does not work on my Moto M2
I am a LONG time MOTU user and I’m afraid to say that this app doesn’t work well at all, I’m using an iPad PRO with OS X, it doesn’t stay connected and half the time the screen updates don’t work, checking input levels etc. With sooooo many other companies competing for business, I can’t believe MOTU accepts the app. in the state it is in, ESPECIALLY when they offer no hardware option for mixing. I hope they take care of this app or start from scratch.
Doesn’t work very well on iOS, and I’ve contacted Motu several times over the years about improving it, but there is almost never any updates. There was an attempt to make improvements a year or 2 ago, and it is a bit better, but landscape mode is still basically unusable, the faders scale to a weird uncomfortable size and you can only fit a few faders on the screen. They also eliminated the personal monitor option from the iOS app so any one using the app has full access to the interface, but when I give musicians control of their own mix I don’t want them to have full access, I want them to be limited to their mix and that’s it.
