Movie Tracker: What to watch

I wanted a simple tool for managing shows and movies we’ve watched but wasn’t cluttered with social networking that I don’t need or use. Movie Tracker fit my requirements. I found this to be very easy to use (low learning curve) and easy to find movies, actors, etc. and add them to my lists. Easy to track categories too (westerns, sci-fi). Excellent that it works across my iPad, iPhone and Macbook. Thank you for such a great App.

This is a phenomenal app for building your watchlist! My only disappointment is that unlike the sister app by the same developers, Book Tracker, there is no way, as far as I can tell, to manually add titles and export your lists as PDF files. If these features were added, I would consider this app to be the perfect package!

This app is great and allowed me to finally move away from keeping my list of “what to watch” in Apple notes to something much nicer. A few improvements to his app will change it from a really good app to a really great app. Some of these are better searching & filtering, better ways for a user to drop movies/shows into different buckets (spaces) and easier ways to tag items.

The app has so much potential. I downloaded this app because mainly because of the stats feature. However, it’s a lot more manual than I expected. You can’t see your watched stats unless you add a date which is disappointing. Searching requires spelling out the full movie, actor, director etc. (lacks smart results if you misspell) would be nice to start seeing results “as you type” or autocorrect to speed up the experience. Marking something as watched requires too many click actions. I wish it didn’t require adding something to the backlog first before you can mark it as watched. Otherwise, the Design is perfectly simple. Hope to see some improvements!

3.5 stars the idea is great and it works decently well but the app just isn’t very user friendly. It takes a little while to figure out how it works.

Why I really like this app: -Straightforward way to keep track of what you’ve watched or plan to watch; - Mostly simple interface (see below for exception with TV shows), not overloaded with extraneous information or graphics; - Free of social media. Aspects that could be improved: - Allow users to directly log a film or tv show as watched, without having to first add it to a backlog; - Devise a cleaner way to log TV shows. My recommendation would be to log a show first at the general level, and then if the user wishes, to drill down in a separate page (after tapping on the main TV show poster image) to log seasons and individual episodes. Right now, it’s too cluttered when displaying entries for every single episode of a show — plus sometimes special features — all in one giant, scrollable list.

You came track shows for free, but you have to PAY to track movies!!!

I love the fact that this app design wise fits right in with other Apple apps. I do think making it easier to rate, mark as watched, and move a movie into the watched list would improve the app a lot. I get confused when I make a list and put things in there they disappear from the backlog. I kinda wish they would stay in there and in the list I create. Over all I love it I just think making it more user friendly would help! Less menus!
