I love the idea. Hopefully more data sources can be added as there’s not a lot of info on most of the music I look up. I also *really* wish I could remove Trending and Top albums from the Home Screen and just see the albums in my own library.
See interesting details about the music you’re listening to, right from the share sheet! I usually use it to quickly check the songwriters/producers/engineers. Great dev that provides regular updates and listens to feedback. This app and MusicHarbor by the same dev are my favorite additions to my Apple Music subscription.
Most of my music yields no meaningful information. Regular ripped cd’s with enough metadata: no information. Music bought through iTunes: track titles and album artist, nothing more. Composer per song, artist bio, all interesting tidbits are missing. Current version not worth the money.

MusicSmart had been one of my favorite apps and really enhanced my listening pleasure of Apple Music. Then there was an update several weeks ago, and now all I get is the writer and the producer of each song. No longer is there a detailed breakdown of who played what instrument on a song and that’s the main reason I bought this app. Now if I want to know that info, I have to go back to Wikipedia, just like I did before buying this app. Total fail!
Unless I’m having a difficult time navigating the updated app, it seems like all the actual “liner notes” are no longer available. There’s a wealth of information within the app, and it seems pretty well laid out since I was a more regular user, but the liner notes from old vinyl records that I used to be able to access through the app don’t seem to be there anymore. I imagine it could be a licensing thing, but it’s a shame. And if there are no actual liner notes, it makes the app name a bit misleading.
Great in concept but too often it glitches and delivers only cursory song data. When looking at Genius, I nevertheless see all of the song liner note information. Keep working on it, A for concept and effort…
This app is amazing!!! I love looking at the album information and the record label the album was released on. The only thing is that the release date on the album is one day off. For example, if the album was released on june 17th 2004, on the app, for some reason it says the release date is june 16th 2004. I wonder is there a way this could be rectified? On all of the albums in the Apple Music library it does the exact same thing. Other than that, I really enjoy using this app!!!
This app is incredible. So much attention to detail. MusicSmart and MusicHarbor are a beautiful pair. Both help me to experience more new music and stay in the know of who is making the music behind the scenes. Fantastic Work.
