The Park should be embarrassed. There’s no excuse for how badly this app “works” with all the money they take in. No wifi so you have to use your data. And then after using the data for the app the guide never downloads like I said completely embarrassing and unacceptable. And they don’t offer maps or audio guides on separate devices like Pompeii did.

Touring the Colosseum is already confusing enough. Frankly I think you should book a guided tour rather than rely on crappy tech. Anyhow, since this is about the app.... Guess what? Cellular service at the Colosseum is terrible, and thousands of other people are trying to download it at the same time. And *after* you download the app, you need to download the resources for your tour. They are not small. And there is no wifi to download the app or the audio. So get the app well ahead of time someplace where you have wifi (this much I did), open it, and find and click all the download arrows, just in case. (Also bring headphones to the Colosseum, because the crowds are noisy.) As for the app itself, it only finished loading the audio after I was well into the Colosseum and it uses (vague, spotty) GPS to decide what to play, and my battery was about dead by that point (from all the downloading). So I ended up not using it at all. Waste of time and battery, this app was.

Very janky, expected more out of it. It took way to long for the images to load and was very un-useful. This app needs to fix the kinks and make it more reliable, efficient, and relevant.

You would think Italy would do a better job to allow visitors to purchase tickets to see their prized Colosseum. I have spent hours on this app and their website waiting in neverending queues. It is virtually impossible to see the colosseum unless you overpay and book with a 3rd party vendor online because all the tickets are bought by them. Way to go Italy. Maybe they should limit ticket purchases by users so that these 3rd party scalpers dont buy them all up in advance like other popular destination websites.
