Finally experienced two separate earthquake alerts. The value is the split seconds to begin thinking about how to react. In Loma Prieta it took me 5 seconds to realize it was a quake and figure out what to do, seems silly but 5 seconds is meaningful. With an alert my brain can go straight to “where am i safe?” mode.
Amazing technology
It’s really incredible to get warnings, giving time to duck and cover. Many times I get an alert, I don’t feel shaking in my area, which is to be expected! It’s a prediction, not a guarantee. The times when it has alerted me so I can get to safety and I DO feel shaking remind me how incredible this is. Everyone on the West Coast should have this app, with the expectation that many alerts will not end up being relevant to you. But someday one of them likely will be.
Early warning!
Thank you for this app. A neighbor mentioned this app days ago, after the quake in Eureka, CA. I got a notification that nevada had a quake of 5.7. a second or two later, i felt the earth shook here in our area, about 3 hrs away from the epicenter.
Too jarring
The app works, which is amazing. But it just tells you a quake is coming, so every notification feels like the end of the world even if it’s just a little 3.0 jolt. I’ve injured myself twice scrambling under a table for quakes that I barely felt. And the alert notification sound is more stressful than the actual quake—my nervous system is rattled for days afterwards. I had to take the app off my phone.
Wish it was faster!
We had a 7.0 quake today 12-5-24, Northern CA at approximately 10:45am.
The quake had already hit and was seriously rolling well before I got the alert on my phone in Orland CA.
(I totally understand technology has delays.) I just wanted the developers to know there’s a long delay.
This is the second good sized earthquake this year I’ve gotten the alert for after the earthquake has hit my same location.
I love the app and being able to pull up all the information on the earthquakes as fast as I can!!
I love getting the alerts even when they scare the heck out of me..😂 … even if they are a little late. 😉 At least I know.. it was definitely a quake I felt. If I suspect I felt 1, I can pull up the maps and info just to verify.
🎯All of you do a great job and I thank you for that!!
Rocking & rolling 🎢 through the quakes as a CA resident of 50+yrs. 😉

Had an earthquake today 12.5.24. Myshake was the 1st to alert me. 100% recommend. Thank you!
Horrible app, don't bother
It hung my phone for a good 10 mins and then I had to force restart.
Live in Cali? Get the app.
Think of your family. Take action.
Disappearing alerts
Phone goes crazy with an alert. I grab the phone to see a text notification but as I grab the phone I accidentally hit the home button and the text alert disappears never to be seen again. So what’s so important? I’ll never know.
Almost immediate notification
This app notified me of the 6.7 earthquake in Humboldt in less than a minute. Probably could allow me to take cover in nearer earthquake. Helpful.
