Why i can’t add my car into the app?
I can’t even get on to the app, I was on the MyT app and was directed to this app. I’ve signed in, asked for my mobile number and no verification code has ever been received. I have tried multiple times, with various different ways of putting in my mobile number 44, +44 etc etc but I have never received a code. Even tried to register again, but no, can’t do that. There isn’t even anyway of making contact for assistance!
Had a MB before and their app had its moments, but this is absolutely terrible. 80% of the time (yes that much!) it fails to update or shows an error. Need it to monitor car charging etc so a real pain. Features such as send destination to car have never worked. Absolutely love my RAV4 but this app is poor.
In theory, the app should record every trip - distance, consumption, from and to etc. The big problem is that it misses trips more than it records so the summary screen is completely wrong. Toyota say they are working on it but if it can record one trip, why can’t it record them all?
After struggling with the app for over 3 months now with a brand new Rav 4 PHEV i feel compelled to write a review. The reliability is truly awful with the app going days and weeks before reconnecting with the car to give any sort of telemetry data. It can't be relied upon to give an accurate status re charging and it records about 1 in 20 journeys seemingly picked at random when the app or the car feels like it. For a car priced towards the higher end of mainstream manufacturers this app is just shocking - it wouldn't be so bad if the basics just worked (esp given that all the app actually has are basic functionalities ) but they just don't. I keep coming back to the App Store to see if a new version will fix the problems - but alas no. @Toyota - you need to listen to your customers re this app and get some fixes in.
The ‘My Garage’ function does not update regularly, especially with trips covered to help with Hybrid Coaching - disappointing!
The app itself rarely shows up-to-date information I.e. battery level without manually refreshing. It takes ages to refresh and most of the time comes back with an error. This is likely to be more of a problem with the back end infrastructure that the app relies on but it needs to be improved. If there’s an error, please tell us what it is so we have some hope of diagnosing it with dealership support.
No data from vehicle from 15/8/2034 about midday.
I must say that as Toyota is a Japanese company I expected much better than I get from this app. It’s for ever giving me the dreaded spinning wheel and there’s hardly a day goes by without an error showing up. If you email the developers with a question you get the usual response, we’ve got your email and will get back to you, but it never happens. I’ve asked on several occasions how to delete the notifications, when I can get them, but still don’t know. Time to pull your finger out Toyota and give us the app we deserve!!!
I’ve had my new CHR for 2 weeks. The car has been parked until today. Initially the app connected to the car and all was good. After 2 weeks of the car being parked up the car seems to have frozen in the app. It was showing at a different location to where the car actually was (showing at the location it was parked at for 2 weeks). It is no longer showing trip information and the remote features no longer work (unable to connect via the app to switch on the hazard lights or any other feature). All in all the app could be very useful but already (only the 4th time I’ve used it) it seems to have permanently glitched. I have now tried to removed the vehicle from my app garage and reset the connection to the multimedia). Hoping this would solve the problem. It now will not add the car as it no longer connects to the car to verify the mileage. I am now stuck with a new car (which I partly chose because of the app) and an app that won’t add my car. I can’t describe how disappointed I am with the Toyota app team and their lack of coding ability. So many reports here and online generally with the same issues! Isn’t it about time this was sorted?
