Beschreibung

Nanoloop combines sequencer, synthesizer and sampler in one package. It provides all functions for creating electronic music from scratch.
- Easy to use sequencer, suitable for rhythm and melody
- Automatisation of all parameters
- 8 channels, each can be synth or sampler
- 8 patterns per channel
- Sample via microphone
- Re-sample
- Polyphonic FM-, PWM- and noise synth
- Song editor with loop function
- Send and receive projects via e-mail
- WAV export
- Sharing projects and audio in file sharing apps like Dropbox is possible when these apps are installed.
- MIDI sync with other devices

The Synth
Nanoloop's FM synth offers a maximum of flexibility within a small set of parameters. It comes with a stereo modulator detune effect and covers the typical clean bells and Rhodes-like sounds, spheric pads, thick beats and basses.

The Sequencer
The stepsequencer visualises the rhythmic structure in a compact 4x4 square matrix, making it very easy to lay out patterns.

The Sampler
Besides A/D envelope, loop function, start offset, tune and fine tune, the puristic sampler comes without effects. You can record up to 6 seconds via microphone or copy samples via iTunes.

Share
With nanoloop for iPhone, you can send your saved projects to other nanoloop users and your own PC via e-mail. If nanoloop is installed on the recipient's iPhone / iPod, she/he can simply tap on the file name in the received e-mail to start nanoloop and import the attached file so that it is available for editing. This makes collaboration very easy, multiple users around the world can work on the same project by simply e-mailing the file.

Export
Songs can be exported to a WAV file that is accessible via iTunes (simply drag & drop files in finder). The exported file is also copied to the clipboard so that it can be pasted in other apps that support pasting audio. If a file sharing app like Dropbox is installed, you can upload the file there.

Saving doesn’t work on iPhone

The app installs and functions on my iPhone and functions just fine, tricking me into putting time into making a song, but all file system functions fail silently. It works on my ipad but quietly does nothing on iPhone. Meaning that making a song is pointless.

Simple but great synth/sampler with a rich history

It’s great to see this available on iOS. Nanoloop has a long history that AFAIK started with Gameboy and now available on iOS. It’s a unique music synth with sample loading support and once you get used to the work, makes you create really interesting music and works well for live music making. It’s deceptively powerful. Glad to see it getting updated to work with new iOS releases and hope that continues. I still have my game boy cartridge from decades ago and every now and then start it up on my game boy - touch screen is nice, betters are better!

Nanoloop is the first app I pull up when I want to get something down quickly. What I love about this app is that I don’t need much of an idea to get started, just start plopping triggers on the grid and start tweaking parameters and I’ve got something I like in no time. What surprised me most about this app was how deep it is. It can be a bit confusing at first, but if you spend some time with the interface, things will start to click and you’ll realize how well thought out this app is. It keeps you focused with out being bogged down my too many options. However, the step-based parameters offer a whole world of sonic options. My only wish is that I could use this send the midi out from Nanoloop to other synths or at least play nanoloop within AUM. Still this app is an amazing standalone groovebox optimized for the iPhone.

Amazing idea creator!

Very small learning curve for people that understand ADSR and synthesis / sequencing at a general level. Getting “quick” at plowing down an idea on this app takes practice as you develop the muscle memory, like any musical interface. Love everything about this app! It provides just enough to feel basic while surpassing something like a “toy”. This app is capable of generating full length, semi-mixed tracks. Or layers. Or one-shots. Really capable. Until you want to export. EASIEST, SIMPLEST thing is just to save your .nan files for recall within the app, ignore every other glitchy option, AND RECORD SOUNDS OUT THE IPHONE > dongle > auxiliary > 1/4” mono splitters > Interface/DAW/8track/vhs/whatever lol p Maybe an in-depth guide to exporting could help. Please though an update with levels & easier exporting would be so appreciated. I bought this and gifted it to someone, who doesn’t care too much because of how difficult it is to export on new iPhones. Love u guys and would gladly py for this app again if the end-game features worked as advertised. 💖 I swear I’ll press the same save twice and this app will output .nan usually with the occasional successfully sequenced .wav.

Saving broken?

Loving the app so far, really dynamic synths and easy to pick up and sketch. I think the save feature is broken though, it keeps crashing when I hit the save menu.

Thanks to the super-smart UI, the most usable “all-in-one” groovebox I’ve found for iPhone. Seems limited at first, but each of the sound modules has real depth! Comparison to the Elektron workflow is accurate, as some have stated before. My one gripe / feature request would be to improve the “looping” mode in the sequencer. I’m much more likely to want a 2-bar pattern than a 4-bar. And maybe I want 3 or 5? I know I can copy paste, but this doesn’t really work for live performance / kills the vibe when composing. A simple slider interface for number of bars (1-8) would be much better. Also while we’re complaining, maybe a filter for the sampler module? ;-) pretty please (would make sampling straight from the mic a lot more usable). Again, lovvvve this app, literally making an album entirely in nanoloop right now!

Awesome app! But needs a few things...

Having trouble playing samples. I upload .wav files into file sharing through iTunes to nanoloop, but not all samples are available. I know you guys are working to fix this due to sample rates. They populate into the load browser, but do not play or create a waveform. Please fix! Also, can you guys add a sample slicer that chops to pads? Doesn’t have to time-stretch. But I think this would be an awesome addition to nanoloop.

Incredible, Powerful, Simple and Free!

Such a beautiful minimal appearance! The app designer should get a prize for how much functionality is packed into an uncluttered and easy to use interface. Completely usable on my tiny iPhone without any difficulty. Rest assured that it’s not a toy, though. I actually prefer this to more full featured sequencers because of the all in one interface design in which all note parameters can be adjusted from the main grid. 👏👏 The learning curve was not too bad, even for me (I have the bad habit of refusing to look at any documentation). If there’s one tiny con, it’s that there is no way to get a satisfying drum sound easily, the ‘noise’ mode is okay for this, but a dedicated choice would have been nice. But ... for other instruments, it has both PWM and FM, and they can be layered! The decay shape is not changeable, but that would be another control, and perhaps it’s not worth it to clutter up such a clean interface. TLDR: Get it, spend some time with it, and you’ll love it!

Frustrating

It’s really cool when it doesn’t crash, which is about 50% of the time. After that, you have to open it about 15 times before it will stop crashing for awhile.
