The app doesn’t work. I even called tech support and they couldn’t figure out what to do. They were going to reach out to the developer. It has been five days and I still haven’t heard back from them. Don’t waste your money until they fix it. I tried pairing my android phone. I got a little farther but the device wouldn’t register. Total fail. They clearly don’t test the product. In addition, I suspect the hardware uses old hardware that doesn’t support 5.0 and 2.4 wifi with the same SSID. I will confirm this if they ever call me back! I sat on hold for an hour last time. - I called back. I even tried with an android phone. I got a bit farther but apparently their registration server is down and tech support has no idea when it will be fixed. I even tried hard wiring the device and because the registration server was down, it wouldn’t work. Great idea; terrible implementation.
App
App is horrible. You have to be at house to set up the network. The interface is almost impossible to use or connect to the NaviLink box.
App no longer works cannot connect to Wi-Fi or nothing else
I cannot get the hot water tank to connect to the app anymore keeps telling me to reset the network I have over and over and over
Awful device and app
No longer will connect to server. The app was barely useful before that. It’s completely useless now. If I could give it zero stars I would.
Very basic but I have it working
I use only for space heating, not DHW. A few glitches in setup. One high level annoyance is the requirement for precise location. Hate that! Too creepy.
So now I have some basic things I can monitor and a very basic graph. It satisfies my curiosity on a few things while it’s new. Once the novelty wears off I wonder if I’ll see value in this at all for me. But now that I’ve paid for the device, future buyers will need no be their incentive.
There should be A LOT of potential here. Never mind changing settings - I can go to the unit for that very rare need. So many more status parameters I should be able to see *and GRAPH*. I’d love to track the output and return temps for example. And *definitely* the output capacity over time. Why can’t I graph whatever I want? An absolute dream would be a query mechanism via HTTP to extract what I want and put it in a spreadsheet. But that will remain a dream. But it’s being done elsewhere on home monitoring systems).
App needs fixed ASAP
App has mysteriously started kicking off schedule at random times. This defeats the purpose of having a set schedule saving propane when not needing water to recirculate.
Also there needs to be a manual recirculate button added to the app to manually control when you want to recirculate just like a hot button would do.
Cannot register product
I have a new npe 240a. When I try to connect connect Navlink it keeps telling me “cannot register product, please try again.”
Idiotic Setup, bad customer service
So, you just got your new heater and paid extra money for the wireless capability, and in the setup, it wants to know the email address and phone number of the installer. After several attempts and 2 hours on customer support, they don’t have a solution and they’ll “look into it”
This app was built by a programmer from 1983 that thinks that people have to fill in useless information before they can get in.
After spending all this money on this system, save your money and get a Rinnai heater. I’m going to have the contractor rip this thing out and put in one of those.
How come it has 1.7 stars for this user experience
I wish I could give a -5 star
Can’t connect - product only supports 2.4 GHz
Had the navien tankless water heater professionally installed, including the Navilink Wi-Fi router. The app is useless, and I couldn’t connect my iPhone 13 with to the Navilink router. I can initiate the Wi-Fi set up, connect to the Wi-Fi SSID that is generated, but the app hangs and says “this product only supports 2.4Ghz” and kicks me out.
From a pure app perspective (this is a review on the App Store, anyways), it’s garbage and i won’t waste my time until this is fixed.
