Thoughtful and insightful audio tour of The Breakets. Well designed app (can take photos while listening and read transcript along with audio).

I had an amazing time touring The Breakers Mansion! The App is a very useful guide as you move from room to room. It gives helpful information in order to better understand the beautiful layout of the Mansion. Many thanks to the Preservation Society of Newport County for maintaining this gorgeous Mansion!!

Nice app if you have headphones. Otherwise, you have a choice of listening on speaker, so everyone around you also hears, or putting the phone to your ear. The problem with the last choice is that the tour screen contains several hyperlinked areas that take you out of the app to a web browser as the surface touches your ear and cheek. As a result, you lose the ability to pause, go back, or advance. Those hyperlinked areas should be hidden when listening to audio.

Directions and room info are excellent!

In person servants tour with “Ed” was fantastic. He contrasts the inventions of the house so well, things the owner thought of. He was kind and considerate. He also amused our group. Perfect! I would recommend this tour and then see the house after!

I really enjoyed hearing the details of how the Vanderbilts lived and how the home reflect at the gilded era and life in an era that American no longer has the ladies who are in the hallway were knowledgeable and sweet as they added details to help us understand how the two Vanderbilt felt, as well as some of their neighbors were the financial kings of the country

Loved it

Used the English at first without issue. When my girlfriend and I downloaded the Russian version on two different phones, for her parents each room only played for 2 seconds and just said “click on the button”. Also passed several people trying to listen without headphones.

Extremely inconvenient. This tour definitely needs a guide. Other people around trying to use the app without headphones makes the tour distracting and troubleshooting the app during the tour is extremely frustrating and takes away from the experience. Definitely recommend opting for a tour with a guide or just skipping anything involving this app in general. The second tour I just deleted the app because I enjoyed the ‘tour’ more without trying to use the app. Don’t even bother downloading.
