NonogramZ Japanese crosswords

This would have got 5 stars for the controls but unfortunately some of the puzzles require some guesswork. Of the ones I have played so far one had two possible solutions and another needed a guess to start off. Update. I’ve come back to it after completing all the puzzles a while ago. No new puzzles. Surely there should be at least a new daily puzzle.

This used to be simple and good fun until the developers stuck forced advertisements onto loading the game up and after completing any puzzle. A real shame because they're only doing it to push for people to make an in-app purchase to remove them. A poor tactic indeed, but hey...we have the ability to delete this app and find a better one where this isn't done.

Technically, this isn't too bad, with ok controls that are quick to pick up (the exception being that you can easily overwrite your previous work by accident, which you might not realise until later). The advertising is very intrusive, but generally seems to be the type of ad you can play, which is better than just videos. Didn't bother with any in-app purchases. The main problem I had with the game was that quite a few puzzles I tried didn't have unique solutions, and when this happens you have to guess which of the possibilities the game wants from you (to the writers, as an example the smiling sun puzzle had at least 2 other possible solutions which fulfilled the clues). There are better paid and free hanjie/picross/nonogram apps out there.

I tried 2 puzzles of different level of difficulty, both were impossible to solve without guesswork. I have solved technically much harder puzzles on other apps so it's not that I'm incapable, these just don't work.

I really love this game, highly addictive.

Like Good level of challenging, and available color puzzles. Don't like that some puzzles you can't logically complete without using tips or guessing. Frequent ads.

I was enjoying NonogramZ, it's a 4 star game let down by the bad placement of adverts (over buttons - finally fixed) and some puzzles that are unsolvable without spending stars. But this update had broken the program: it crashed on the iPad within 5 seconds of opening. I am glad to say that it is now working again. And to add insult to injury it has wiped out the 700 stars I had collected.

What a shame

I had reinstalled this app after a few months for some relaxing down-time. All was going well until the Feb 29 update. Opened the app up this morning and it consistently crashes on iPad a few seconds into game. Tried restarting iPad as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the app. No good. Goodbye Nonogramz.

The interface is lovely but too many of the free puzzles have errors in the clues to make me want to spend money on the paid ones.
