Note Taker HD

Not the most fancy or pretty app available for note taking, but in my opinion certainly the most efficient. If you can look past the very basic (and at the start confusing) interface, you will find a very powerful tool for note taking or pdf annotation during classes.

I have used this app in meetings and conferences and find its functions to be very complete. Handwriting is smooth, auto zoom works fine, wrist protection is very good. The user interface is however complicated and needs simplification, especially if you quickly need to export or change things between conference speakers for instance. The typing feature is not user friendly. In fact one types in a small column on the side of the screen and the text appears in a text box on your notes page. This is often confusing, and also limits layout options. This app has a lot of potential but is less user friendly than other note taking apps available.

This is a very useful apps. I would be perfect if "zoom wrist guard " mode works precisely! Sometimes my wrist makes the whole screen move

Superb app for making notes!

You can do almost everything for organizing your work and your thoughts with this app. It's a serious help for serious work, not a gadget.

THE best got even better

This app is very good. It doesnt hava the most beautifull interface but i didnt think this was a bad point. Interface is very clean but is has a small learning curve. I must say this app has convinced me to take my ipad to college and try to make notes with it. I did try to take some notes already and id works. I use textboxes for the clean text parts and when i need to do make callculations i use the usefull writing feature of the app. Also handy are the object for arrows, tables ... I use the X/Y axis a lot because it look 100x better this way in stead of trying to draw it by hand :p Best $$$ spend so for in the app store for me :) Ps: sorry for the bad english but not my native language.

Dit is een stabiele note taking app met heel veel features. De interface is allesbehalve intuitief en MOET gewoon volledig hertekend worden.

I must say i didn´t even expect such level of software when i took my decision to acquire an iPad. Nota Taker is just what you needed to get rid of paper notes and even be obliged to write better. This is as easy as drinking a cup of coffee and notes are ready to be sent at the end of the meeting to your team or to be archived in your IT system. Last but least you can even show with a projector the notes and graphs sketched during a meeting. I just love it and it really simplifies my life. Very good for people travelling a lot (iPAD concept). For next versions, hopefully we can add a keyboard and why not making evolution to pdf/ppt comments. Thanks and enjoy it, it's simply what you need for meetings at pro level.

I started using NoteTakerHD in 2010 on my iPad 2, entering data into my homegrown social work encounter form, imported as a .pdf and saved as a template. I chose NoteTakerHD because it was the only note taking app password protected and encrypted to HIPAA standard. I have used this app every working day since, now installed on an iPad Pro 11 inch. Never a glitch. Stone cold reliable. Other apps for taking notes may have more features, but I trust this only this one for my psychotherapy notes, all sensitive, health-protected documents.
