Beschreibung

With over 10 years in the App Store, Notion Mobile is a free, award-winning music composition tool for iOS, iPadOS®, macOS and more! You’ll effortlessly create dynamic compositions in traditional musical notation or guitar tablature with its intuitive touch-based interface and incredibly broad editing capabilities.

With a user-friendly interface and simple interactive piano keyboard, fretboard, drum pad, and even optional Handwriting Recognition, Notion Mobile makes it easy to get started composing your music. You can also hear your music performed with the most realistic playback possible, using real audio samples recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios.
Notion Mobile is a native cross-platform app, meaning you can write anywhere on any device without requiring a constant Internet connection. And when you’re back online, you’ll be able to sync your work across multiple devices — either through your preferred cloud provider, or through the optional wireless transfer between PreSonus applications on any device. Start your work on one device and finish it on another. Once you are happy with your creation you can share the Notion file, or export as MIDI, MusicXML, PDF or as an audio file.
Compose, edit, and play back your music performed with real piano and orchestral samples recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios — along with outstanding sampled guitar, bass, drums and other popular instruments. And when you’re ready for more sounds, you’ll find the extensive library of Notion Add-on Soundsets to purchase as part of the Feature Bundle. To save space, the initial app download contains just piano — you can then manage which of the bundled Soundsets to have on your device or keep in the cloud, just tap on Sound Installation.
Notion has been featured in various Apple campaigns including the 2014 YourVerse television commercials and has won several awards, including a prestigious music industry NAMM TEC Award for Best Smartphone/Tablet App.

Too many bugs. You’ve ruined it.

I have been using this app for many years and loved it in the past but since the major upgrade a couple of years ago I have been fighting it with bug after bug wasting my time to write a simple tune. I have persevered but I’m giving up. There’s been plenty of time to fix issues but it just does crazy stuff and I can’t work with it. Very disappointed!

Guitar tab

I've been using this app for a while and wish I never updated it. The quavers in guitar tab mode now look like goal posts, and the vertical line passes through the beam. Please fix this. The old version of Notion was perfect before the major update two years ago. Since that update, I found the app not as user-friendly and have stopped using it.

Can’t save a file

I download notion as I’m looking for a good notation app to use one my iPad. On the surface this seems like a very good app but I’m never going to know as I have not been able to save any files.

Going to another app after around 8 years

Sadly, the updates have destroyed the app. I’m a long time user who paid over $100 AUD for extra instruments etc. Best app I’ve ever used for music. But the updates over the last two years seemed to have destroyed basic functionality. I can’t move notes up and down without adding unwanted accidentals, I only get three copy and pastes per session before this ‘feature’ stops working. I reached out for help but navigating the website and logging in is not clear enough. Now looking into other apps. Sorry to go.

Good interface, but lots of bugs.

Been using Notion for a week or so after years of using MuseScore on PC and Mac. I would very much love to ditch my laptop and go with all-iPad, and a music notation app was one of the last pieces of the puzzle. Sadly, I can’t make that move quite yet, at least not with Notion. Start with the positive: the interface is pretty good, took a bit of time to get used to, but that’s fine. Playback function easy to use, good selection of instruments, adding staves is easy. Unfortunately: keeps crashing. All the time. Still haven’t succeeded in saving a single file where I want it, which is Dropbox. Screen keeps glitching and hanging in a weird way which requires restart, problems adding key signatures, and very very confusing Apple Pencil options. Also, I’m a working bass player, there are no tablature options for anything other than six-string guitar that I can find, which is a big omission compared to the competition. Worst part? No option that I can find to give feedback! I hate that I have to go to a public review option to do so, I’d much rather send feedback directly, but if the option isn’t there, then I’m sorry but I have to air it publicly. Has potential, but very undercooked, feels like a Beta version at best.

Chord entry issues

V3.04 review on

Australien

V 3.0.4 - I can no longer enter chord symbols above the stave without adding notes in as well. This will double the time it takes me to make a simple chord chart which is my main reason for using the app. Another example - suppose I have a whole note melody in a bar & two or three chords going with it? The app makes this impossible to enter. A significant downgrade in useability, please fix asap.

Notion 3 - Regret Updating!!!

M Rebecchi on

Australien

Through iOS updates, Notion has updated to Notion3. How can I restore version 2, it was very user friendly? In Notion 3, I am having troubles with a few things including notation. From the previous version of Notion, I am used to separating my treble and Bass clefs. The chords I input at the 1st and 2nd time bars puts the Chord above the line, particularly in the bass clef chart. Frustrating. These are just a few issues including notation in 12/8 and inputing quavers, for example. I haven’t gotten any further because this is doing my head in. Version 2 was much easier to navigate.

Horrible update

ar-khan on

Australien

Even after 1 major and 3 minor updates the app is full of bugs. Cannot restore my purchases and it asks to buy it again. Are you serious? Literally useless support and yes I am talking about Jonny who always just replies with generic messages and doesn’t actually spend time to read the support ticket. You guys need a new Dev and Support team.
