Worst “news/journalism” you’ll probably ever read. Terrible user experience, blasted with tone deaf ads 24/7 and more desperate fluff. If you pay for this app you are quite literally the problem. Prove us wrong.

I find the content a bit “lite” and wouldn’t rely on it for in-depth reporting especially regarding international news. Some major events overseas are barely mentioned. It’s also very annoying to open an article and see under the headline pictures and links to a completely unrelated topic as well as the pop up ads. This is especially poor taste when the article I’ve opened is of some serious event, murder or disaster. I would guess most subscribers to the herald want news and informed articles but you seem to be trying to cater to everyone and trying to be entertaining. If I want online entertainment I would go to social media. Please don’t use social media content in your news site as it’s lazy reporting especially if the piece doesn’t contain any wider context or independent reporting. Some of your content might report on an event or issue but doesn’t indicate any follow up by the reporter on whether the details are accurate or if an authority has given input or even been informed. Maybe you want to be first to report an event but that isn’t good when your report doesn’t give any actual information. If a report is about a dispute the article sometimes only shows the he-says/she-says part but doesn’t always indicate who is actually right or if anyone has followed up with an authority. So some articles sound more like gossip and more fitting of a glossy magazine. I also find the ads very distracting and sometimes they are bigger than the news articles. I know you rely on them for revenue but you have the ads in the list of articles, then the pop up ads, then a lot of sponsored content too. There are too many opinion pieces that are self serving of the writer. Some days it’s hard to see any actual news. I want news and reports that give an unbiased view. It is also very lacking in good international content. I use a lot of news sources and mostly go to the herald for local “what’s happening here and now” content. And maybe that’s the herald is intended to be. I don’t rely on it to be well informed. The layout is good although often slow to load (we have high speed broadband). I think it wins awards because there’s no local competition.

I found your news to be better than other avenues. Your news on almost all countries is way ahead of others. Your reported is way better and way ahead of Australian news media. I thoroughly enjoy and look forward to your updates.

I read newspapers on my iPhone and iPad. If I am signing up using one of my devices I want to use Apple Pay the same as WaPo and NYT. I don’t want to have to find a credit card for payment. It’s the 21st century.

the New Zealand Herald is brilliant news paper it’s a great way to catch up with what’s going on around the world ….the NEW ZEALAND HERALD is my favourite publication in the whole WORLD

Good app but too many paywalls I do expect to share some articles with friends Also the nature of articles paywalled gives rise to some suspicion they are politically motivated
