Amazing App!
Definitely saved me so many times when I’ve been close to being lost. Tracks you without service. It’s very detailed and has all the trails!

It has everything you need for outdoor recreation. The one feature I would like is the ability to show the names of multiple saved waypoints on screen. This could be a user selected on/off feature to reduce screen clutter. You can display a single waypoint name and info by tapping it. But the ability to have a named series of waypoints on screen would be an advantage.
Differential update? Why do you still need to download the whole lot?
This is great for general use. I use it for hunting and it works well.
It’s great, never had a free app do what this does!
The best topo map app I have used in New Zealand
By far the best NZ Topo map app(s) for iOS. All the features you need, but still simple and straightforward to use. Highly recommended. Really really hoping that the developer will make an Apple Watch version (please!).
I really like this app. I use GPS professionally for logging vegetation points and this app is faster and almost as accurate as a dedicated GPS. The only thing it doesn’t do is average a location. It would be nice if the font size could be changed for those with failing eyesight, and if multiple waypoints could be deleted at once. Loading points is very easy but sending multiple points and drawn boundaries is problematic.
I love this app with my whole heart but the topo map is a little out of date and doesn’t show some of the newer tracks and hutts.
I used Gaia GPS for my 24-week through-hike of Te Araroa. It worked fine, but required downloads of individual maps and was very complex. In comparison, this app has fewer features and is therefore much simpler to use. It also includes a map for the whole island, with the ability to turn on/off locations of trails, DoC huts, hunting areas, etc. I’ve found it to be almost perfect for Great Walks and other multi-day tramps. One minor annoyance is that it is hard to click on some features - such as huts, to see the hut names - without instead hitting other features such as the neighbouring trail.
