Ocado: supermarket shopping

I find this app so frustrating, whenever I need it in a hurry I find myself signed out. It also doesn’t seem to use Face ID? You really need learn from the Banks or decent retailers never have this issue with them.

Terrible app, irritating as it’s so user unfriendly! Will not shop from this app.

Spent ages searching and adding items, got to checkout, paid with Apple Pay then there was an “error” clearing my trolley with no trace of what I selected. Lost delivery slot in the meantime.

I can not fault Ocado in any way shape or form! I have been with them pre Covid times. From the choice of foods to the delivery persons who always come with a friendly smile and loaded with my shopping, to replacing any items that are unavailable, Ocado have just made such a difference for me and my family! There are not enough Thank yous in the universe to say how grateful and appreciative I am of you all!

One of the most effective ways for customers to be secure whilst using online services is to for said services to support, require, and promote the use of long, unguessable, and varied passwords. The Ocado app is hostile to any practical use of secure passwords to login to the app; given you cannot copy and paste credentials (I.e. email and password) from a password manager.

The delivery is good. Door step adjustments are an unnecessary cost levied for no reason other than to charge extra money. What exactly is going to cost £5.00? It is a means to extract extra money for items not ordered or received.

Unable to log in because Ocado does not recognise my log in details - despite having used successfully on my laptop and passwords being saved. Waste of time.

On the whole, the app works. A main frustration is how when you search for an item or are on any page other than the main page and leave the app (running in the background) for any amount of time, your session is reset and you’re back on the main page. Why?! No other app does that. In addition products are frequently out of stock for long periods and the cut off time for placing orders is quite far ahead of competitors. And even though Ocado price matches against Tesco - Waitrose are now often cheaper than Ocado on branded items! Yes, Waitrose. A more annoying thing with Ocado now is the amount of spam emails you receive. And you have to opt in in order to receive price match coupons. I do find I use Waitrose more nowadays as a result of the above.

This is far superior to any of the main supermarket apps. The search and filter function are so much better and the product information is more extensive and helpful. I very rarely get substitutions and when I do they always make sense.
