Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty

Honestly after reading some of the reviews about the controls ect… i wasn’t expecting this to be any good to play. WOW i loved it, graphics are brill. Im just sad i finished the game. The controls take abit to get used to but you can change them to suit you. You can also autosave wherever you are so you dont have to go back to the checkpoint. Absolutely brilliant game and a bargin at 4.99❤️

From the world where things that ain’t broke aren’t fixed comes this wonderful remake of the PlayStation classic, that had us escaping mythical sludge food factories distributing our companions’ canned flesh. Gross and charming in equal measure, the original was so utterly unique that none of the non-platform sequels had anyone in any way interested... at all... and I had a huge fear that this would be a disaster of a ‘remake’ or emulator or whatever it was supposed to be. But it’s great. All of the charm of the original remains, with the control system entirely intact. Comments of caution include potential lack of appropriateness of the controls for iPad (it’s a little tricky to handle without physical controls, but many, many things are). Also, I remember the backgrounds and background detail being a little richer, so I wonder why a full 3D rework was done for this version, but it looks very nice all the same. These are minor gripes and I had great fun playing this. Huge nostalgia for me and such fun for anyone new to the franchise.

Used to play this years back on the PlayStation. Great to see it back.

Got to the temple and was loving the game, however, you can not run into the temple as there is no forward button! Anyone know how to get in the temple as I’ve pressed every control button to get in!

Great game. Played on N64 and don’t mood much on a small mobile screen. But I don’t get Shrykull power when it’s given and I can’t advance levels. No app support, not even on socials, therefore 1 star.

Having played the original many times on the PS1, I have to say I’m very disappointed by the iOS remake. Very glitchy to the point it is now impossible to progress any further. Also no thought has been given to the touch controls when it comes to transitions between rolling and running, which is required for some puzzles. I can’t believe this hasn’t been playtested!

Great game, lots of memory connected to it. Just started playing it on iPhone and it seems there is a bug with the grenades. However long I wait before throwing, nothing happens. Thank for taking the time to investigate and/or reply.

Only had this a day (after coming across the original version buried in the depths of an old laptop!), decide to see if it was available on my iPad (for ease and to play anywhere), and it was! Amazing graphics, so far it’s similar yet different in places to the original. Controls easy enough to master, once you’ve played around a bit. Can’t wait to get stuck in to it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
