OMNIE Home

Two problems with this app: 1. There don’t seem to be any clear instructions on how to most effectively use the app, what the symbols mean etc. A step by step explanation in the OMNIE website would be useful. OMNIE seem to take it for granted that you can work it out for yourself, but it’s not that obvious. 2. So far we haven’t been able to make it work on both our phones - when one person uses it, the other one can’t log in. And when trying to figure this out, I encounter problem 1.

Easily one of the worst apps I have ever used. Seems to have been designed (if you could call it designed) and coded by someone who has no idea of user experience for apps nor who knew anything about the end product the app is for. The interface is clunky, important icons are hard to find. Navigation is complicated. Response time to every input is painfully slow. Input to time and temperature for schedule are via free text(!?!?) not a selection. The first thermostat I added removed itself from the network before I’d finishing the others. Only option to add it back is to start from the beginning. None of the thermostats returned to the home screen after setup as advised they would. Gave up after an hour and deleted everything. Took just 10 minutes to manually set up 6 thermostats instead.

After three days of attempting to contact both OMNIE and the site developers I am completely frustrated. This system does not work remotely as advertised. Once you leave your home it will not allow you to connect. There is virtually no customer support as when you try the link it comes up with an error! When you call OMNIE they refer you to the site developers who also have no customer support. At great expense I have put this whole system throughout my house for it to be rendered useless when I try to access it remotely.

Functionality in the app is great and gives me everything I need to control my heating, it’s easy to use and some nice little touches to customise it, but It does need voice recognition to Siri (and The others) to bring it in line with all my other smart home devices. It doesn’t necessarily need to be part of Apples HomeKit, but to be able to ask Siri what the temperature is, turn the temperature up or down, etc is what would get it to five star heaven! Keep up the good work.

After the update last year all the previous issues are fixed. The app does exactly what I need in terms of controlling my underfloor heating. Looking into adding some of the sensors and smart plugs to control other bits through the same app.

Basically a remote control using your phone and nothing like a real smart system like Nest Awful graphics and clunky.

Intuitive and very simple to use. Has all the functionality you need to control the heating and other smart appliances in my home.
