Issue with automatic charges in the Omo app
Subject: Issue with automatic charges in the Omo app I am using the Omo app and encountered an issue with automatic withdrawals without the option to cancel the subscription. This violates my consumer rights, as I cannot cancel the subscription independently, and the charges occur without my explicit consent. This contradicts legislation that requires transparency and voluntary user consent for such transactions. Relevant legal provisions include: • Article 1071 of the Civil Code of Ukraine: allows withdrawals only with the user’s consent. • Article 18 of the “Consumer Protection” Law of Ukraine: prohibits restricting consumer rights without their explicit consent. • Directive 2011/83/EU (EU Consumer Rights Directive): requires clear information on terms, including automatic payments. • GDPR, Article 8 (EU): consent for automatic transactions must be voluntary, transparent, and revocable. I request Apple to address this issue and ensure the app complies with App Store requirements. Thank you!
