I’ve been an ON1 user since 2018 on a Mac and every year I hope their latest release does enough to break me away from my Adobe account/subscription and every year they fail. Why? Not because of the desktop app, it has matured massively and has plenty of tricks to shame Adobe. No, it’s the complete disregard for this mobile app and the so-called Cloud Sync platform which is pretty much useless. Every time I think I’ve nailed it and got things working it glitches and then the sync goes out of sync. I don’t know how many times I’ve got to the last bit of an edit on the iPad (M1 Pro version) and it crashes losing all edits. I’ve had many direct support emails and said on numerous occasions, how they need to show the same love to this app and sync as they do to the desktop, the fact that I’m writing this review 6 months after the last app update gives some testament to the fact they don’t really care about this which is a real shame. Not a day goes by without another email in my inbox giving me some new feature or idea on the Desktop but not once have I seen anything about mobile or sync :( My current licence runs out in October and I think this year will be the one where I don’t renew it.
Paid considerable amounts of the Onone 360. This product is slow to load pictures, quite clunky in use, the camera is still basic. The worst issue is that it keeps crashing ! I am so used to the stability of iPhone apps. This is therefore in contrast even more shocking. Needs serious work and fixing - letting down the side for an otherwise great desktop software. I have bought the software pretty much annually since its first release so I am a loyal customer.
I’m trying out on1 because I want to move away from Lightroom mobile and twice with the same edit it crashed
Waited a long time for this app but does not live up to the hype 1-edits do not seem to transfer between iphone/ipad/computer as stated 2-jerky and very slow 3-keeps freezing 4-slows up the main editing suite on the master computer 5-camera function very basic 6-takes forever to down load all your files from your main library to your other units via the cloud and does not seem to transfer your edits between your units 7-every time you enter your library you have to wait for the pictures to un-blur which depends on what your signal is like All in all i think i have wasted nearly £200 for the complete ON1 360 system After waiting the last 2 years my edits still have NOT transferred only the unedited raw file Regards p jefferys
Like a lot of reviewers I wanted to like this and wanted to be able to have my entire photo library available to me on my I devices. However, the reality is that the software just doesn’t work as described. It takes forever to synch, freezes regularly & is basically unusable in it’s current state. I’ve now cancelled my monthly subscription & feel the last years worth of subscription fees have been a waste of money. Avoid at all costs!
I really enjoy using Photo RAW 2021 and now 2022. However the 360 sync app or whatever it’s called is just pointless. Takes forever to sync. I have tried both ways from iPad Pro to iMac and iMac to IPad. Even when it finishes and you close the iPad app and then return to it it has to refresh all over again. I have no problems with Lightroom sync. This app should never have been released.
Wow. After 10 months we get a (limited) metadata viewing and a tiny histogram. Update 2 Dec 2020 While some filters and features were added the sync is still appallingly slow and the UI is still primitive. There’s no background refresh and no caching neither. Don’t waste your money on the subscription as I unfortunately did. Adobe LR in iOS is a joy to use compared to this app. I wish I could give it 0 stars. Update 2 Sep 2020 It has been two months since the 360 service started. So far there were no fixes or improvements to this mobile app. The sync and the display of the photos take a very long time. Every time the app is opened it initially displays a blank screen and it takes a while to display anything as if it was not using a cache. The initial photo thumbnails show as blurred every time the app is opened even though some photos were synched previously and again it takes forever to see the actual photo thumbnails. The photos edited on the desktop cannot be reedited in iOS. And sometimes even non-edited photos cannot be edited in iOS (message: This photo is not yet available for editing). There are no sort options. I’m paying £60 a year for a half baked service that is basically unusable in iOS. Original review: - it initially did not recognise my 360 subscription - the camera part is quite primitive compared to the most camera apps - no gridlines in the camera - no level functionality in the camera - no display of the basic exposure info (shutter speed, ISO, EV compensation) unless one is in the fully manual mode - the EV compensation value gets reset between the shooting sessions - some of the JPEGS produced from the edited DNGs and saved to the camera roll have strange artefacts - the JPEGS produced from the raw files from the 360 cloud and saved to the camera roll don’t have the original date - there’s no location info in the original files shot by the camera (there’s no entry for the app in the location services in the settings) As a camera it’s pretty much useless. As for the editing, the basics are there but there are no user presets, no profiles. There’s no metadata viewing, the only visible photo info is the file name.
Been using it for a couple of months but syncing is terrible all I get on my phone and ipad are blurred out photos - frustrating and annoying. On1 raw 2021 is good why can't they fix this not good value for money
I can’t believe they released this as finished software, presumably because they wanted to start taking customer money for the subscriptions as soon as possible. There doesn’t appear to be any handling of large amounts of files or slow network connections. The whole app slows down to become unusable. The handling of local photos via the app is atrocious, leading to duplicate entries, I don’t want to use any photo management features because it’s not clear what it’s actually doing to the file system. (Will delete remove only the duplicate entry or the actual photo?) I was enjoying getting to use ON1 photo as a non subscription replacement for lightroom and was slowly getting used to it. I thought this subscription would make it even better than lightroom however all it has done is make me question the standards of the company.
