unfinished and very confusing...
Subscribed and tried for one month. I’m looking for a cheaper alternative to GoodBudget and similar apps for an “envelope system”. I don’t need to sync actual bank accounts just need something to categorize and track my finances. This could be it, easy to use and has the main concepts in place. but not developed enough. Editing transactions: can’t change category or date. Report generating: didn’t work for me; and I need all transactions to list. Customer support didn’t respond to email. Just not confident this app is stable enough. But hope it gets more attention from the developer. You got this!
This is a great little app but I can't figure out how to reset/clear the entries after the first month. I have searched everywhere for how to clear the transactions short of going in and deleting each of them by hand. Emailed support a few days ago - no response. For the monthly subscription rate it should be far more obvious or support should get back to you asap.
As far as I can tell this app only exists to grab your personal info. I could not find anyway to add transactions or effectively use the tool.
I don’t usually write reviews but have been really enjoying using this app for the first month. I tried a lot of the budgeting apps before settling here. It’s easy to use, no ads, reasonable price and clean UX. I hope you continue to grow the app and feature set.
This is a budgeting app that basically simplifies your spreadsheet alternative. It’s very basic. I do like that you can add each budget category to your home screen as a widget. I really don’t like that it doesn’t reset your categories. Like once you submit a deposit you have to take them out when your month/week is up. It’s a problem that I feel like can be easily fixed but it just hasn’t and it’s annoying. All in all it’s a pretty good free app. There is a premium but you don’t have to get it it’s just an option. I would still recommend this app. I would just like some things to change.
My life literally would not be the same without this app. It’s so customizable and can make your budget work YOUR way. So many other budget apps confine you to their budgeting system, but open budget let’s you do what works for you. It is by far the best budgeting app I’ve ever used, and let me tell you, I’ve used them ALL. Also every update the app gets better and better. I tell everyone I know about this app and had so many friends download it and sing it’s praises. I’m beyond thankful this app exists. Just download it, you won’t regret!!!
When the service I used for budgeting announced that they were shutting down, I started looking for a replacement. I tried every budgeting app out there, and none of them worked with the way I budget. I was ready to give up, and then I found OpenBudget. Simply put, it’s the best budgeting app available. Believe me, I’ve tried them all. It’s the only app that offers the power, flexibility, and sharing options that I need to budget properly. The design is intuitive enough for anyone to pick it up and start taking control of their finances. Now that I have everything set up the way I like in the app, keeping up with my money is easy and enjoyable. I thought budgeting would turn into a chore, but OpenBudget has made it anything but that. The developer is also very responsive and kind. When I was first trying the app and deciding whether or not it was for me, I reached out with some feedback that he immediately incorporated into the app, making it even better for how I budget. I’m proud to be an annual subscriber to OpenBudget, and I look forward to using it as my family’s primary financial tool going forward.
Useful app. Switched from clearbudget and it has a similar system, but much simpler to track transactions
