Optiwatt: Tesla & EV Charging

Looks like bugs have been squashed. Send to be working well. I would like to see multiple departure times as an option though

Cannot change the name of my thermostat. Only accepts one name for both.

This was reported direct 6 months ago, but their CO2 graph is still totally wrong for California. Compared to the official Grid’s graphs at CaISO.org, Optiwatt’s CO2 graph never shows strong dips in the middle of the day, when sometimes there is so much Renewable power it is curtailed!! Totally needs fixing to work as advertised!!

I’ve been using the app for a few years now and it works great for scheduling my charging during the cheapest times from my utility. Support from the developers has also been great.

After giving all permission and set up, charging scheduling is not supported for 2024 Audi Q4 etron. The only reason I downloaded to scheduling charging session which is not supported!! As per optiwatt application faq, it does support the Audi Q4

I’m a fan of the app and idea but my Lennox S30 isn’t compatible for some reason. I believe the API is rather open but I could be wrong. I’d happily redownload and pay if that brand could be added. I’ve given 5 stars as I’ve used your solutions before.

Will mess up energy settings and cause errors.

I have used OptiWatt for my Tesla for several years and loved it. With the latest update, it no longer handles scheduling of charging and departures. I have written to the developers 3 times in the past months and…crickets. Very disappointing. Went from 5 star app to 1 star.

The picture for my Chevy VOLT shows a Chevy Bolt. Also, Honda (Claritys) cannot be added. Honda has a few EVs or PHEVs.

Recently Optiwatt started using Tesla’s API and requiered me to give them access to certain aspects of the car. I get that it needs permission to read account info and control charging schedules and track location, I’m ok with that but why would it need access to locks and add or remove drivers? Nope, removed the app from my Tesla account, deleted my Optiwatt account and deleted the app from my phone. No way I’m giving that much control over my car. Maybe I don’t understard how it works but it clearly states in my Tesla account I am giving Optiwatt control to lock and unlock the doors and the app will not work if you don’t. Why is this necessary?
