Before, Orbot just kept on crashing but not after the update, it actually works!!!

This is a free VPN that routs all data through tor! This is probably more safe than using a paid VPN provider, I love the work you put in 😁

Just doesn’t work

It’s a nice looking app but the major flaw with it is that connecting seems to a) take forever, b) be spotty and c) fail frequently. I don’t know if the devs can fix it because I’m guessing it relies on the nodes connecting to one another, maybe there’s a way to test if the connection is stable first before making the link. But I have absolutely zero idea how it all works anyway. If devs could make this more reliable that would be amazing!

Don’t bother, it hardly ever connects, even after clearing the cache, restarting and using its so called smart connection, better to just find a tor browser that doesn’t use this poor excuse of an app.

Every since Onion Browser was locked together with Orbot, this App has been absolutely useless. And worse with every subsequent update since to the point where it doesn’t even work. Just keeps getting stuck at loading. Having cleared cache a hundred times, have uninstalled and reinstalled on iPadOS a dozen times. Useless.

But basically just tor based onion routing vs browser/search functions. Oh well.

Assumed i could search darknet with this official tor app for ios, but apparently it's just a tor based vpn and doesnt offer any search functions / browsing of darknet? Am i correct in this understanding?

Edit: plz help me I can’t compile this with Xcode 14+, I get cc link errors. Was an older version of clang used? what are you doing. go back to version 1.6.4, increase the memory limit back to 10MB it works fine edit: never mind , i understand now why you did it. for everyone else: it was done because the more you surf or multitask, the more memory you use and when you finally cap out at max the vpn disables for a moment which defeats the purpose of using it at all.

Orbot was a good vpn but now it’s completely useless and doesn’t work …
