Organic Maps: GPS navigation

I downloaded a number of maps to use on recent holidays and was very pleased with the accuracy and ease of use. They are particularly useful when I don’t have 4/5G coverage abroad.

Urban city often facing cellular network issues. I found this app works better for waking navigation in city it’s weak signal and rural areas.

Finally, I found the right app for preparing for trips without having to keep paying for a subscription. It works! I don’t mind paying a small bit so I just donated a bit on their website.

It can sometimes be difficult to see the blue pointer and exactly which way it is pointing.

I use the maps to navigate green lanes and tracks on my off road bike. It’s great being offline

Have been waiting forever for this - community open source and offline. Google and Apple are so useless and exploit small businesses, harvest data, the lot. Can’t wait for this to catch on.

Does everything I need it too. If you live near a boundary for OpenStreetMaps you will have to download multiple areas. Also following IOS18 it would be nice to have the option to switch the app icon to a dark mode version (black background, green icon)

Perfect for hiking even without cell connection.

The best OSM rendering app I have used. Very clear and easy to use with offline maps that you can use when out in the wild with no coverage. Regular and worthwhile updates with proper release notes, not like the big commercial developers who are too lazy.
