Origin: Budget & Track Money

Update: bugs fixed, much better now Original: App on iPad is dysfunctional. Won’t load, freezes *every time* on splash screen (have tried reinstalling multiple times), and I can’t even open it in safari — it just forces me to open the (nonfunctional) app! iPhone isn’t as bad, but if often gets stuck loading and consistently takes way too long for such a simple app.

I love how the app looks, pretty easy to maneuver through and connect all your accounts in order to get the insights you’re looking for. I had an issue where I wanted to merge a previous account that was sponsored by my former employer, and they were able to assist me very quickly. Aside from the app being really easy to use, I think it’s really important to be able to have access to customer support and that they be friendly and helpful.

you might as well charge for the app itself, because the only thing you can do without a subscription is make an account...

This app saved me. For years like most people serious about tracking their financial health I used Mint until they shuttered it. Literally even many paid apps come up short. This app is sleek and modern. They’re also always adding new functionality and their support is too notch. I’ve been able to link most of my accounts to track them automatically. The Origin platform also offers more than tracking as well. They offer consultations with a financial planner. Messaging. As well as estate planning and taxes and more

The app looks nice, but it doesn’t seem to work on iPad. I’m therefore scared to create an account it if I’m already experiencing issues. Happy to speak to a developer.

For my first personal finance app, it’s been a pretty great experience. Some of my favorite things about this app is that it combines finance management software with financial advisors/consulting. The customer support has been absolutely incredible and they have been able to quickly solve my problems/questions. I have a great insight to my spending and budget, and I can file my taxes for free!! That’s why Origin is a total winner for me. The user friendly interface/UI is a huge plus! My few suggestions for improvement, which are already stretching, include: Account history and gains/losses insight on specific accounts is not always visible/available. This might be more due to the vendors themselves. Investing insights and comparisons against common indicators like S&P or on different time scales are great but wish 401K account came through with level of investment detail that other investment accounts do. AI feature ability answer specific questions about my account details would be amazing For the tax software, the ability to upload digital files and have them auto-populate /read the file to populate the templates would save so much time especially for the capital gains/loss worksheet I get access to this app as a work benefit but it has become a stable in my money management. I don’t usually write reviews but had to for this app because it’s that important to me these days.

I’m getting myself to understand this and other financial areas I need to work on

I needed a new budgeting app after mint shut down. I tried copilot and monarch which were fine but Origin has taken it to another level. The design is beautiful and I was able to move my Wealthfront investments over (they have investing and hy savings) which makes things even easier. Excited to see what they come up with next!

I’ve tried so many different apps and I can honestly say I love the ease of Origin! It truly has made budgeting so much better. Love having everything all in one place. Still getting use to how the budget layout is but I’m really enjoying everything. I love having my assets and liabilities split so it makes reviewing those items easier. I no longer freak out when I sit down to review my budget. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I’ve tried so many money apps and haven’t liked any of them…until Origin. This app gives me all the features I need to track my money throughout the month.
