The flash is used to light up the image when you touch the 'flashlight' icon on screen. It is only on when you want it on. With that said, continued use of the flash may dramatically decrease battery life.

It works great for me i really like the tip calculator
Perfect for reading food labels!
And I love that I can take a pic of it and then blow it up even more. Great app!

Small print, loose screws in one's specs ... all of that.
Nothing special
This app combines your phone's camera and flashlight, and a tip calculator into a single utility. The app has ads that you can get rid of by paying more. Not worth it. Instead just take a picture of what you want to see (a menu, a label, etc) then view the picture, zooming in as necessary to read the print. That's all this app does anyway.
Careful
Even though it's a pay version doesn't mean you don't get ads. It will cost you another $1 to permanently remove ads. OK. Nothing special.

This works well not just as a magnifier but also in reverse mode as a hand held mirror.
The Best Magnifier
Works great and, I especially love the slider zoom feature as well as the flashlight.
