Beschreibung

PainSled connects your Concept2 indoor rower to fitness tracking and workout experiences like the Concept2 Logbook, Zwift, Strava, TrainingPeaks, SportTracks, Fitbit, and Runkeeper. It also logs your rowing and heart rate data and lets you export it data formats like TCX or CSV.
PainSled supports Bluetooth data connections with the Concept2 PM 5 monitor, and USB data connections with the Concept2 PM 2-5 monitors using the Concept2 iConnectConcept2 cable. It also support Bluetooth heart-rate monitors as well as Ant+ monitors connected through the Concept2 monitor.
* PainSled Premium Features
PainSled can sync your workouts directly to the Concept2 Logbook, Strava, TrainingPeaks, SportTracks, Fitbit, and Runkeeper.
PainSled can also make your indoor rower appear to be a cycling power meter, so you can participate in online group workout experiences like Zwift. It's really not as strange as you might think! After you get over the part where there are climbs (boo!), descents (yeah!), and the fact that you don't face backwards while working out...
* About the PainSled Premium Opt-in Subscription
If you use PainSled Premium features and would like to support development, please consider enabling the optional PainSled Premium subscription. The PainSled Premium subscription is priced at $5.99 per 3 month period, and comes with a free two-week trial period.
- Subscriptions will be charged to your App Store account after confirmation of purchase and will automatically renew for $5.99 unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You may manage your subscriptions in your App Store account settings after purchase and will also be able to turn off subscription auto-renew if you wish.
If you only use PainSled during the offseason, feel free to switch the subscription off when you arn't using the app. Thanks for your support!
* TCX and CSV Workout Export
PainSled also lets you export your workouts to TCX and CSV file formats which can be helpful if you use a fitness platform that does not have built-in workout sync.
* The Stroke Scope
PainSled Basic also includes the “Stroke Scope”, a visualization of your last 5 rowing strokes along with drive-to-recovery ratio indicators. In landscape mode you can long-press the screen to make the Stroke Scope full-screen and use it to drill down on stroke-to-stroke consistency.
* Heart Rate Recovery Tracking
During idle rowing periods, PainSled Basic will continuously display your heart rate recovery drop in beats per minute over the first minute, or the most recent 60 seconds after the first minute of recovery.

Works perfectly with Zwift

I use it to row with my Concept2 on Zwift. No issues.

Works well with rowsandall but lacks apple health connectivity

Overall I am pleased with painsled. But, it is at the cost of losing connectivity to apple health kit. So my workouts are not logged on iphone. It's a shame.

Great data - wish more screen options

Pros: Easy synch to concept 2 Collects a wealth of information Range of options to export data Cons: Minimal options on data screen Please allow option to show peak force, drive time or drive length on screen as you row. ErgData has that feature (although exports less data)

Promising But Needs Work

I decided to try the app based on several positive web reviews and its potential for providing enhanced data to analyze my workouts. I rowed a test session with the app to see if worked as expected . It smoothly connected to my PM5 and recorded the workout without issue. I then tried to sync my workout to the Concept 2 Logbook, and it failed. I tried employing the troubleshooting techniques for this issue but could not resolve it. I sent a support message to the developer on 9/7 and have yet to receive a response. Apps sometimes have bugs and sometimes the problem is user error, but I expect a developer to respond to a support issue in a timely fashion. Three weeks (and counting)is way too long. I wanted this to be the answer to my search for a better rowing app, but right now it is not.

Good concept. Needs work.

I want to like it but every time I use it with zwift it freezes after about 25 minutes of rowing. The app will stop updating my wattage and zwift will show a 0 output. Even when I restart PainSled and it starts to recognize my rowing wattage again, zwift won’t work until I exit the race I’m in and re-pair everything.

Bridge to Zwift

Great app for rowers wanting a bridge to the cycling app Zwift! Thumbs up

Great app. Cleanup is a pain

I really liked this app. It differs what it's supposed to. The only thing I find annoying is deleting workouts. You have to individually select each interval one by one, then hit delete, then confirm. Atypical workout might consist of 8-10 sets, so that's 30 or more steps just to delete your data after syncing. There should be an option to select all then delete.

Phenomenal Export for C2

Been waiting for this for years C2 exported to common analysis packages. Needs some tweaks, but still 5 !

Fantastic app for Concept2. Just a tiny note...

My activities import into garmin and Strava as Bicycle Rides, not Rowing. It's easy enough to manually change it, but I still hope it gets fixed.

Finally an app to export Concept2 Erg data!

Have been waiting for this capability for years! Good realtime display of row info plus it exports in a TCX file format that can be directly imported into Garmin Connect. Note it imports as a cycling activity to preserve stroke rate as cadence. You can change to a rowing activity but stroke won't be displayed in Garmin Connect (but is stored in case you switch back to cycling activity). Will upgrade to 5 stars and buy the sync upgrade when an automatic Garmin Connect sync is added.
