“What we learn, and what we remember is the difference between history - and knowledge we can present. If you do not have the knowledge, turn to history which holds the answers in all walks of life.” - J.E Manning
This seems like a childish take on history. The writing is poor, and has no academic qualities. Disappointed.
With a few minor errors here and there, I really can overlook that for how good this app is or will be in the future with some tweaking!!! So much potential, love the format, and the audio guides as well are so good. I’ve only got the free version now but I’ll definitely look into paying if they keep this up.
You lose three points because of this. Why can’t we just unlock episodes with ads? I LOVE learning about history but this app ruins it with payments I can’t afford.
Not only is the layout of this app easy to navigate, it also keeps you engaged while learning. The passages are enjoyable to read and keep you interested. I’m a high school student who has a love for history but a distaste for the education system. This app is exactly what I need to WANT to learn.
They decided to use pop culture wording to describe the historical events, I feel like it takes away from the understanding of the literature. It feels like a 19 year old woke college kid giving a short history lesson, very underwhelming. I can see where they were trying to go with this, (making history more relatable to the younger crowd) but I was actually looking forward to detailed historical timelines, literature, quotes, and feats. This just feels amateurish. I hate to say it like that because there was obviously a lot of work put into its development, but the format just isn’t for me
Started today with the lesson about Caligula. Already found a typo - during the quiz, “island” is spelled “islad”. This is just plain careless, sloppy work. If you can’t bother to spell island correctly how can I trust that you got your historical facts correct. Incredibly disappointed. Won’t be renewing after my free trial.
This app is touted as a way to learn more about great leaders. They information is very surface level, and there are only 11 leaders on the app! I paid for three months and could get through these 11 leaders in less than a week! I think these reviews are padded because the only REAL reviews are low.
This is a semi-solid app. Three things: 1. There are way too many typos. I’m talking about obvious errors. 2. The “stories” need more depth. 3. The quizzes need to be sharpened. They aren’t lashed well enough to the lessons. I’ll wait for an improved version.
