Too Good to be True

Had high hopes for this app but alas… it’s useless!! Connectivity between camera and iPhone is a nightmare… it shouldn’t be! You can do better Panasonic….

Endlessly infuriating!!!

one of the reasons why I brought the camera was the wifi to camera capability but this app is beyond useless. It crashes, multi transfer doesn’t work and single image transfer results in crashing and 5 copies of every picture. Both app and iPhone are up to date and there’s plenty of space. My Nikon transfer app is a dream to use unlike this rubbish!!

Really???

Not well thought out. Crashy, grabby. Downloaded then deleted. Waste of time.

This app is really useful. Using with gh5, gh5s and g9. Making a stop frame movie currently and the app allows you to focus and shoot without touching the camera on a tripod.

Hopeless

A simple function like pairing and sending pics from camera to device like an iPhone over BT should be child’s play and as easy as 1-2-3. It’s not. This app really lets Panasonic down and their cameras.

Useless.

Useless! Couldn’t get it to work on my iPhone 7 Plus. The only problem I had with it was scanning the QR code. My iPhone camera wouldn’t focus. But the app also said to “snap”, and there was no snap/ capture button. Almost sounds like a problem on both Apple and Panasonic’s side, but this did not even begin to work for me unfortunately.

Crashy w GH4 movie mode

Wedelski1 on

It's a nice app // but there are two major problems with this app in conjunction with the GH4 in Movie Mode: 1) the focus peaks, so useful in Movie Mode, appear on the app monitor before you start rolling. As soon as you begin to roll however, the focus peaks disappear (unlike on the LCD monitor on the GH4 itself). This is a major problem, as I've been using the app in conjunction with a DJI Ronin. 2) the second, more problematic, issue is that there seems to be a glitch between this version and the GH4 in that we've had 2 crashes in the past 2 days of shooting. The first time, I pressed the stop record button on the app, and the camera froze, while the app said "camera operation in progress" -- on the GH4, the image was frozen, though the timecode continued to roll. All buttons on the GH4 and the app did nothing. In fact, turning off the power on the GH4 did nothing. We waited for the battery to die rather than pull it out. Fortunately, we didn't lose any footage. Yesterday, we were rolling in Movie Mode and I pressed stop on the GH4. Again, the camera froze and the app said "camera operation in progress." Again, we waited for the battery to die. Fortunately, we had a second camera to continue working. But we've stopped using this app until we see an update!

Still doesn’t work. So no remote function.

Second update: Panasonic seems to have totally abandoned this of us with older cameras. The same failure to connect still happens. I’ve given up transferring photos-the Apple card reader does that in an instant. But I would like a remote! Nope. Still no connection-despite an alleged update from two months ago that “fixed problems.” I love my camera but I’d have to think again before buying another. But I’m getting the clear impression I as an amateur dont matter at all. Whats new!?! Update: I mostly used the app to transfer photos to my phone. I bought a card attachment from Apple to enable me to import from the SD card to the phone. I’m able to download almost instantaneously. So I’m glad for all the problems-the card gizmo saved me a ton of time on my vacation! I got a new iPhone 14 pro. Now when I try to connect the camera (DC-ZS70) to the phone, the phone looks like the Wi-Fi is connected and then says in red “no internet connection. ” the Image app won’t give me control or transfer picture options and the camera says I am connected!!! Weird thing-my old iPad works ok-it goes to no internet connection but then the image app connects! Weird! And a big hassle. I don’t want to travel with my iPad. Update: I contacted Apple support. They escalated my issue to Engineering. Engineering investigated and said that it is an issue with the app. I emailed Panasonic support earlier this week. Despite an email saying I’d hear back in 2 days, I have heard nothing. I have 2 LUMIX cameras connecting this way. Neither works on the 14 Pro-both work on the iPad . PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE!!!!!!

Can’t connect to iPhone anymore

Disgruntledxyz on

Up until the most recent iPhone software update I had no issue connecting through the camera wifi and using the app to transfer photos to my phone. Now when I try to connect, I’ll get a “no connection” on the wifi signal and as a result the app won’t connect. Disappointed that they can’t update the app to be compatible with the latest iOS. This now limits my ability to do remote shooting or long exposure shooting effectively.

Worthless app
