No bugs, gripping story, wonderful game. 10/10
With the quality of latest hosted games I didn't have much hope for this one but it surprised me. It was well written and the story was pretty good. I actually enjoyed it very much. Doesn't have a very high replay value however it is lengthy and well executed. Worth every penny. I don't think there'll be a sequel but I would love to see one
Entertaining and I enjoyed the idea behind it but there's no replay value. It doesn't seem like my choices really mattered, the ending left me unfulfilled, and I had many unanswered questions at the end. Hoping for a better sequel, as I would definitely play it. Like I said, worth a play for something to do but don't expect anything superb.
Really 2.5 but you have to round up in math. The hope was heroes. The story was choppy. Narrative mostly past tense. Still reading but will change my review if it gets any better. Hard to care about the story.
The author's personal ideologies and political views bleed through heavily, even affecting the player character, to the point where it feels like I'm reading someone else's play through of a Choice game.
While this game did a good job of having an interesting plot. It ends on such an abrupt note that it feels like it got rushed out.
Most new hosted games coming out are just rebranded versions of old ones, this is true for this game as well. This had the opportunity to be new and unique but is the same as every other super hero movie, book, or game. Your choices (I'm being generous with 'choice') have no effect on the story or other characters, and there is almost no action in it.
After enjoying many hosted games I made the mistake of not checking the content advisory on profanity. Characters not only frequently use scatological terms (less offensive as it fits their bitter personalities), but why all the awkwardly forced religious profanity that is blatantly offensive to readers with a religious background? The story has nothing to do with religion so why does the author feel compelled for characters to offend people of faith?
The story is okish, but the main character doesn't feel like me, the ideals of the character are already set in stone. The story grabbed my interest since I finally have electricity powers but what does that matter when I can't get creative with them. The stat screen hardly even matters, the stats are only used a few times. I'm not sure if "Hero Rise" spoiled me, but this was a story not a multiple choice path where I was personally in the world. I say this is a pass, buy if you want a okish story. It's also very predictable.
