Paranoia Text Encryption Lite

Straightforward text encryption with multiple variations of method. I also love the added feature of hiding text in pictures. Great job. Very cool indeed.

Each time i use this i type a bunch of great ideas, then proceed to irretrievably lose everything I types - zilch! The terrible part about this program is it is not prepared for people like me that has not memorized all the controls and don’t realize that after i create encrypted text and i think im cleaning up the readable text so i hit the broom, and EVERYTHING I JUST TYPED IS IRRETRIEVABLY GONE WITHOUT ANY WARNING, so its my fault that it doesnt have safeguards for human operators. So, not for me.

I have the same problem as yazo675

Using iPad mini, I noticed that my password from yesterday’s session was still enabled when I went to decrypt the same text I was experimenting the night before. Maybe I didn’t exit my previous session properly. Otherwise quite pleased with the product. Will do some further investigation. I exited the session pressing the “Home” button which is typical iPad, iPod practice. Probably a user error 😌

The concept of this app is awesome, I just can actually utilize it because when I go to decrypt something I CAN’T SCROLL UP TO READ IT! Would be a 5 star but as the functionality of the app is in operable, I will give it 2. Will change rating if the Devs. fix this soon.

Bruce Schneier newsletters made us all aware that security software can work flawlessly for years, look and feel good, and still be “snake oil” - not protecting your data if the attacker has unlimited access to your files, enough time and resources. I cannot check whether the code implementation of PTE has any flaws, but I like the idea, UI and functionality. 5 stars for this. BUT ... if your data were critically important, or a question of life and death ... ? Sorry to see that the support email address has been deleted. I consider this another reason to repeat my above concerns. Other than this, a detailed list of PRO features vs. light features would be nice. I couldn’t find it. If PRO is just a way to donate, just say so, I would happily contribute.

Every thing else is awesome. I wish it had RSA support too.

No bells and whistles. Does what I need it to.

Very easy and intuitive to use. Six encryption algorithms, three encrypted output formats to choose from. Button for send-to-clipboard.
