Daemon brings Rick to a rock concert, where Rick starts noticing strange things: clots of magical energy that only he can see and a few people separating from the crowd like they are in a trance and then mysteriously disappearing. Rick and Daemon decide to get to the bottom of what's happening and learn that the rock band, whose concert they are attending, made a deal with the Dark Muse. She made them successful, but in return they promised to provide her with human sacrifices. After Daemon gets accidentally trapped in the world of shadows, the abode of the Dark Muse, Rick has no other choice, but to follow him there and look for a way to defeat the Dark Muse and escape.
